Scoring The Guardian - An Interview With Composer Jack Hues (2016)
*** (out of 4)
This seven minute featurette is an interview with Jack Hues who talks about his score for THE GUARDIAN. Hues starts off talking about how he got the job and why he wanted to do something like this to break away from pop music. He talks about his working relationship with William Friedkin and how they discussed what type of score the director wanted for the film and what influence VERTIGO had on it. At just seven minutes there's obviously nothing overly great here but there are some nice stories told and there's no question that you'll have a good idea of what it was like to score the picture. There are some fun stories to be had including hearing how Friedkin discussed the details of what he wanted in the film.
