The making of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was an emotional process for a number of reasons.
Director James Gunn and the franchise’s cast — including Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Pom Klementieff and new castmembers Will Poulter and Maria Bakalova — took part in the Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday. Afterward, Gunn and several of the performers chatted with The Hollywood Reporter about what fans can expect for the film that screened its first trailer during the panel ahead of its scheduled release on May 5, 2023.
“This is a much bigger movie than the other two movies, and it’s a much more emotional movie than the other two movies,” Gunn told THR. “And it’s a longer movie than the other two movies — it’s bigger in every way.”

Robert Heinlein’s frighteningly brilliant sci-fi horror concept spawned an entire generation of biological invasions from outer space. Stuart Orme’s faithful, authorized adaptation has a lot going for it, including sensationally good, gloppy special makeup effects, and a commanding performance from a dour, authoritative Donald Sutherland.

Hammer’s Dracula goes out with a whimper in this final Chris Lee-Peter Cushing vampire opus, which posits the Prince of Darkness as a super-mogul super-villain (with insufficient infrastructure). He’s battling Scotland Yard, MI5 and his old nemesis Van Helsing, while still arranging ritual sacrifices. And don’t forget the quartet of vampire babes he keeps in the cellar.

For years now, I’ve been hosting horror movie marathons around Halloween. It’s my favourite time of year: an extended excuse to trawl through the trash bins of ‘80s and ‘90s horror in search of legit gems. To save you the pain of suffering through dumpster fires like Chopping Mall and House 4: The Repossession, I’ve summoned a list of ten sure-fire horror party bangers. These are films which nail the venerable Venn intersection of scares, humour and murderous efficiency.
So, without further ado, and in no particular order…
Sleepaway Camp, Aka Nightmare Vacation (1983)
It’s not exactly laugh-a-minute, and in terms of gore it’s fairly tame, even for the period. But this summer camp slasher has one great trump card: uniqueness. Apart from its genuinely great twist (which passes the test of being both completely unexpected and holding up to repeated viewings), director Robert Hiltzik drenches...

Jamie Lee Curtis has joined the A-list ensemble of Rian Johnson’s “Knives Out.”
The new role comes on the heels of Curtis’ success at the box office, with “Halloween” slashing records last weekend,
The movie stars Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Lakeith Stanfield, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, and Ana de Armas. Johnson will write and direct, as well as produce with Ram Bergman. Production is set to begin in November.
The pic from Mrc is a modern-day murder mystery in the classic whodunit style, infused with Johnson’s original voice that informed films from “Brick” to “Looper.” Craig will star as a detective assigned to solve the crime. Details about Curtis’ character remain unknown.
The acclaimed actress can be seen reprising her role as Laurie Strode in the hit horror film “Halloween.” Curtis began her career in 1978, when she starred in the first “Halloween” movie. The reboot just shattered previous...

For their next stop in dramatizing the international illicit drug trade, Netflix is going back closer to the beginning. “Narcos: Mexico,” the impending offshoot of the streaming service’s long running Pablo Escobar-centered series, is taking its story from Colombia to Guadalajara and bringing an impressive cast with it.
After three years of the original “Narcos” that encompassed Escobar’s rise and downfall, this fourth season of the show goes back in time to start at the outset of the 1980s. Diego Luna stars as Félix Gallardo, another real-life figure in the annals of illegal drug trafficking, who created the Guadalajara Cartel. On the other side of this pursuit is the DEA’s Kiki Camarena (Michael Peña), trying to balance his family life with an expanded pursuit of Gallardo through Mexico.
