- This series is most frightening with jumpscares; the characters are disturbingly scary and menacing enough to scare players easily. Game requires you to listen closely in risk of a loud jumpscare
- Some of the animatronics give off slow and dark laughter, which can be chilling
- If this was a movie it would be rated R for extreme terror and menace, Strong bloody violence and grisly images.
- Several animatronics are heavily withered with wires and endoskeleton parts jutting out, with the most withered depiction being from Nightmare Mangle from the Halloween mode.

Violence & Gore
- There is no direct depictions of gore or blood, however there is a moment later in-game where a child (presumed to be the protagonist), is bitten by Fredbear, however the scene is a retro-pixilated minigame and does not contain any blood or gore.
- Not graphic, but during one of the minigames through the story there is a scene of a man being stuffed into a costume; the purple guy places a costume head on his head then closes the door
- In the normal ending of the game, the child is shown placed in the jaws of an an animatronic against his will while begging to not be placed there, which crushes their skull with a distorting sound
- The main characters siblings and other people make fun of him for being scared of the animatronics, and one scene shows where he gets locked in a closet full of animatronics parts
- The game has a story of a child being bullied (shown through minigames after completing a night). After Night 5, the child is shown being shoved into an animatronic's mouth and their head being crushed in an 8-bit style (no blood due to the game's T rating).
