At first, I thought the horse in the backstory was a younger Lady Rainicorn. Maybe that's just how pure rainicorns age or something. It turned out to be someone else, implied to a former love interest to Jake. This episode features Jake and his daughter, Charlie (?) playing Card Wars at a tournament. Also of note is how BMO is referred to as a "she". I assumed BMO had no gender. Anyway, this was a great episode because of how creative it was. We get to see all sorts of interesting and colorful characters at the tournament. It's also great to see the actual game being played.
I had no idea Jake's kids could grow to the size of an entire PLANET. I guess that would come in handy. The weirdest part was probably when Charlie kicked Jake's angry ghost (!) out of his body. It was still interesting to see these characters talk about their ages. It does give a more adult feeling to the show. It makes little sense, as most episodes, but it's still visually wonderful. While some designs are pretty plain, they're still unique. ***1/2
