Another strong character focused episode

Gabriel says his goodbyes and Paige has something to tell Matthew.

This is a very good character driven episode that continues along similar themes to the previous few episodes.

The plot reflects on difficulties several characters are going through and continues to look at the influence of parents and past events. Gabriel is very much in focus in this episode and his scenes are some of the most well made and acted. He cuts a pretty haunted figure of a man broken by years of lying, oppressing and countless actions taken for the sake of the cause.

Everything that happens with Paige is quite difficult to watch and I find myself with yet more sympathy for this character. All I can say is she better have a positive outcome by the end of The Americans or I might seek counselling!

There are a few intriguing plot reveals thrown into the mix with the ongoing KGB and FBI missions which piqued my interest in certain characters.

As always the cinematography and editing is excellent. I loved the footage of the wheat fields.

Performances of all were excellent as ever with Frank Langella and Holly Taylor standing out.
