VERY funny, creative series, with the EXTREMELY talented Kaitlin Olson
j_ryberg28 September 2017
The Chernin brothers have found a seemingly indestructible "comedy queen" in Kaitlin Olson, to lead their creative, hilarious "story arc". Kaitlin's character, Mackenzie "Mickey" Murphy, is an accident-prone woman of questionable morals, who has, y'know, SOME principles and character. But she's also a gambling addict with a sleazy boyfriend, and they both will always take the easy way out. Boyfriend "Jimmy" is Scott MacArthur, who is also a staff writer on the series. These two come to be in charge of Mickey's very rich sister's 3 pretty awful, but funny children. Oh, the things they do... I'm still laughing. LOVE IT! And I need to add one standout actor, besides Kaitlin, and that's young, 3' 8" Jack Stanton, who is all of maybe 6 years old. The Chernins must've been deliriously happy to find this kid. No matter what they dress him in, or cover him with, he's game, and is ACTING, as "Ben Pemberton". His older brother and sister, played by Thomas Barbusca and Sofia Blacke-D'Elia, are very good.

Writers have already run out of ideas

Warning: Spoilers
I barley ever comment on anything online but felt I had to this time. Having watched, and previously enjoyed "the Mick" up until this episode I was greatly let down by the show's sad attempt for a cheap laugh tonight! I understand every child needs to learn what death is about but even in comedy it can be handled with better taste. Putting capes on rabbits & trying to make them fly or sending them down stairs in dump trucks to their implied death is in NO WAY funny. To write something so weak reeks of desperation for a show that is so early in it's existence. To be clear, I am not an ASPCA or PETA member. With that being said, the so called joke would have been awful enough with the just the first rabbit but to keep it going was pathetic. Sorry to say that I will not be seeing Season 2 or anymore of Season 1 since it's clearly amateur hour in the writer's room! For those who will tell me to lighten up or it's just a show, I'm well aware it's not real. If you want to bash me don't waste the time because it won't get you anywhere. You can still watch I don't care. Nor should you care if I watch anymore. I just hope that (by a very long shot) someone with the show sees this and actually values all viewer's opinions.
