bgsmoove28 January 2020
Borefest 2020! Just two cute girls on quiet vacation, showing off their bodies when possible. Waste your time if you want to.. I can't get mine back.

Not a remake. This is a duplicate imdb page created, original being Two of Us or dead earth. Look it up here on imdb.

Boring
mark-5349411 February 2020
When it started it took over 8 minutes into the film before either of them said a word I had to force myself to watch it all the way thru so I could rate the film and do a review I've never been so bored it reminds me of 28 days later the speed the zombies run when zombie movies first came out in the 70s they use to walk really slow and films these days are making out zombies are like olympic runners very fast for a dead person.

Simply terrible.
fad-3879831 January 2020
Admittedly this film is better than I could do. Having no training, no equipment and no cast, but only just.

It's a 15 minute story dragged out for far too long.

Poor acting, no script, too many 'make a noise and run' scenes and too many scenes where nothing happens. Literally.

Might have been a bit better if they had employed a director.

Avoid.

And if you cannot avoid, keep the receipt.

Absolutely Terrible
jdiz1151 February 2020
It's 2020 and filmmakers still can't make a decent zombie film. This is terrible. Horrible acting, constant droning music in the background to make up for the lack of dialogue, and simply boring. It's basically a hot lesbian couple walking around doing nothing put on film for some reason.

Just ignore it.
errornl30 January 2020
Bad acting, filmed on an iPhone, bad sound editing, bad makeup and effects. Terrible story, dumb plot.

Do not bother with his atrocity.

Just ignore it.

Would give 0 stars but that doesn't seem to be possible.

DO NOT WATCH!
notrigaengineer1 February 2020
Low budget movie, director has not spent more then 1000$ dollars on this rubbish movie. 80 mins movie and till 52 minutes no zombie was shown, movie is all about two lesbians hiding. Arent zombies suppose to be lifeless and unresponsive but in the movie they run defend jump. Instead of make up the poor make up artist have used powder. I wonder how much pay the actors must have received. This movie cannot be of 2020 it should be 1920.

Horrible movie
billkenney-5069715 February 2020
This is the first review I've ever left on IMDB. I felt compelled to leave it because this movie is so horrible. The only reason I watched it was because the IMDB rating was almost a 5, and I don't know what the hell people were thinking when they rated it higher than 1 star. After 15 minutes of watching two girls watch movies and create string art and dance to music, I ended up fast forwarding until around 55 minutes into the movie, when the zombies attacked. It didn't get much better after that. I wish I had never seen this movie, it was terrible.

Terrible, ridiculous on every level
carlos-pires30 October 2020
Terrible, ridiculous on every level. Avoid at all cost.

To say this is "low budget" does not convey the immense ineptitude and utter lack of any shred of talent demonstrated by all people involved, from the nonchalant z-grade stars pretending to be A-grade models in a Victoria's Secret softcore voyeuristic production in some low-cost resort in Thailand, to the makeup guys who think a good zombie is one with its face covered in white paint.

This comes as no surprise, as this "director" already produced a number of obnoxiously unbearable "action movies". This one actually shows a bit more aesthetic value than the others. But don't get your hopes up: it's always good to hit rock bottom... if you start several feet underground.

Top Notch Zombie Survival Movie
stsinger16 May 2020
"Dead Earth" (originally "Two of Us") starts out slowly, but enjoyably -- two incredibly beautiful women (Milena Gorum and Alice Tantayanon) are living in a lovely house. They lounge around the house, clown around with each other, sun bathe, swim, do yoga, take showers, have hot lesbian sex, and all the while they are dressed in either skimpy clothes, bikinis, or are nude. At first, it looks like they are living in a paradise, but we discover from a radio that they are sheltering away from an outbreak of infection that is spreading throughout the land (it's not clear it the infected are alive or the living dead, but for convenience sake, in this review I will refer to them as "zombies.")

All is going swimmingly until the generator they've been using runs out of gas, and they need to venture out to find some. And inevitably, their safe environment doesn't remain safe and isolated forever and the girls need to fight survive...

Look, this movie is as good as it gets. The first half is two staggeringly gorgeous women dressed sexily (if at all) doing sexy things. The last half is these two staggeringly gorgeous women fighting zombies. I mean, what else could anybody want in a movie? The zombies are the "fast running" zombies (think "28 Days Later" -- this could have actually been in that universe) and they conveyed a real sense of danger -- the girls need to really fight to defeat them. Gorum and Tantayanon are, for the most part, the entire cast (a couple other bit roles) and fine in their roles.

I suspect that by now, you know whether or not you're going to like this movie or not, so if it's your cup of tea, definitely check it out. It totally worked for me. Also, it looks like this was intended to be part of a longer series; there is a chance encounter that doesn't really add anything but gives us a tiny hint of events that happened before, and there are hints of things that could happen after. Which would be fine with me, to be honest!

Atmospheric and interesting until the zombies arrive
Joejoesan4 February 2020
Two beautiful young girls hide in a now abandoned holiday resort somewhere in Asia (Thailand?) after a zombie outbreak. They spend the days eating, swimming, painting, sleeping and watching movies. "It's another day in paradise", one of them says, and as a viewer you know that can't last very long. Let the zombies enter! Unfortunately that doesn't happen for a long time.

The moment they leave the resort in search of gas the film gets interesting. In a small village they meet two male survivors and for the first time you wonder what would happen. Will the men take advantage of the girls? Or will they secretly follow them to their safe haven? The scene ends in a surprising way. Nice, we are still interested in the story. After 50 or so minutes the first zombie arrives and that's too bad, because it's all downhill from there. The living dead look so fake and the fight scenes with them are so laughable that you can't take the film seriously anymore. Frankly, as a viewer you don't really care whether they will make it out alive or not.

Dead Earth (or Two of us) starts out as an interesting and atmospheric take on the zombie genre. The cinematography is at times nice and the Asian holiday resort is a great location. I also liked the music. The girls are very pretty and you're hoping the film will be at least similar to movies like The Dead. What the main characters really lack is a purpose. What were the girls doing? Were they waiting to be rescued? Were they gathering information about the surroundings in order to escape? Just biding their time was illogical given the fact that someday their food and drinks would run out. So what were their plans?

I think Dead Earth is an interesting mistake. It could have been good, but maybe the budget got away. The atmosphere and locations at least are not bad. I'm told Dead Earth is part 1 of a trilogy, but although the story can be continued I wonder how many are really interested in seeing the sequel. You can count me out.

The zombies run
cbgsxr8 May 2020
And that's not the only aspect that separates this movie from most other zombie movies...

You get two lesbians who immediately go on a journey of walking to random places, starting a car only to leave it running for no reason, setting a zombie on fire that could've easily jumped into the pool beside him and avoided crisis, painting paintings that have no meaning just like the rest of the storyline; they give very little dialogue, no backstory as to how/when/why they got involved or what the main goal is other than survival..they go down to an open lake for example, a random scene of a boot briefly enters frame, I think, "over thirty minutes in, maybe we'll finally get an actual zombie", but turns out that scene must've just been a random boot that lead to nothing. Movie also ends at last! Wouldn't be a problem at all, sadly it seems to lead to a third movie, but movie cuts so abruptly; not during a scene where you get so heavily involved in it and then bam, you have to wait for the next movie. Nope, nothing of the sort.

Just completely pointless and one of the worst movies I have watched in general.

More SyFy "quality" trash.

Even Z Nation thinks this is bad. No seriously. Like the other zombie said, girls wearing very little clothing ands zombies. Watch the trailer. Look up the "actors". It's trash. Not even "D" quality.

Doesn't get much worse than this

I wasted enough time watching the film so will not waste much more writing this. Hands down the worse film I have ever seen. No suspense, poor acting, bad special effects and clueless plot. How this was ever released is beyond comprehension

If you have no taste in women or movies.. this one is for you
LovinMoviesMakinGames30 January 2020
I gave it a 2 because of the great camera work.

Everything else is horrid. 95% of the movie is watching an uninteresting Lesbian couple walk around what looks like an abandoned resort , occasionally showing some skin.

No this is not Zombie Strippers, this is a wanna be romance with mediocre looking women, and ridiculous action scenes.

Just bad... just so ... so.. sad.

Painfully boring and lousy acting. There! The only reasons you need to jump this. They tried to play on lesbian sexual undertones, but no amount of boinking could save this one.

Low budget garbage with no talent in filming, acting or developing the video. Terrible plot. Terrible script. Even nudity (of which there is very little) has no chance of making this low quality trash anything but a waste of film or time.

I can't believe someone put money into this.

Terrible
Hajimoto06259 February 2020
I don't think I've ever seen a zombie movie as boring as this one. I know it is a cliche, but watching this really was like watching paint dry, and I love almost everything 'zombie. But this story could have been told as a short. Instead, it is fleshed out to cover 90 with LOTS of filler of the girls washing dishes, going to the bathroom, and packaging food. Good times!

I can't believe a wasted $5.99 on Amazon for this. Don't waste YOURs.

Zombiemovie unlike any other
Sir_watch_alot29 January 2020
Great atmosphere. Two great girls. About 4 pieces of cloth between the two of them. Great music. I really liked watching this movie. It' s not a top 100 hundred movie. Or top 1000. I know. And I have seen better looking zombies. But it kept me watching. And that's worth the stars I gave it. Don't expect Romero. Just chill out and watch. I for one am looking forward to seeing the other two movies, belonging to the trilogy this one is part of.

One of the better zombie movies!
rsvp32126 October 2020
Very well done!

The director and actresses do an excellent job of keeping the suspense going. An indie that's better than a lot of the garbage Hollywood cranks out, lately.

Thanks to this shutdown that pretty much closed the Hollywood industry, "independent" production is getting a chance to show its stuff, and this is one of the impressive releases. ...I also really enjoy the absence of shaking camera work!

Just entertainment - no identity politics, no social agenda message, no special interest group pandering : )

why all the hate here
tinaandkeith10 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I thought this was a great movie, the first scene where one of the protagonists wakes up, I told my wife, hey..they used good cameras, happily surprised. We always buy any horror movie we find in yard sales, flea markets, etc. This will not win any awards, but true zombie lovers should definitely watch this movie. It has its slow moments, but that is really part of what is great about the film. The girls make good decisions and actually seem to have their heads about them. I hope we can see more zombie movies from this director soon. Fight through the beginning, you'll be glad you did. We loved it and will watch it again many times.

Slow paced zombie movie with laughable zombie make-up and pointless characters...
paul_haakonsen26 October 2020
Right, well as much of a fan of everything zombie, then I must admit that I hadn't even heard "Paradise Z" mentioned at any point. So when I was given the chance to sit down to watch writer and director Wych Kaosayananda's 2020 addition to the zombie genre, I didn't know what I was getting myself into.

But hey, if you enjoy a slow paced movie with very, very little dialogue, a lot of focus on nudity and breasts, lesbians and low budget zombie make-up, then "Paradise Z" is the movie for you.

I, however, didn't enjoy this kind of movie. First of all, the lack of dialogue throughout 80% of the movie was just dull and horrible, it took away so much from the overall enjoyment of the movie. And I must admit that I am getting very tired of almost every single newer movie has to have either a lesbian or gay relationship in it. Not that I have anything against gays or lesbians, but the whole political correctness wave that washed over Hollywood is just appalling. And it just feels forces when every single movie has such contents to it. What it wrong with just plain old straight couples?

Nonetheless, getting back on track with the review of "Paradise Z". Well, the storyline was pretty straight forward, albeit a bit on the slow paced side. And, as I mentioned above, the lack of dialogue didn't help promote the movie one bit. Nor did it help much that the characters essentially had as much appeal as cardboard cutouts, and the characters in the movie were lacking motivation, background and anything that even remotely assimilated personalities.

For a zombie movie, then "Paradise Z" was just not cutting it. And a zombie movie needs to have proper special effects and zombie make-up. Yeah, well you will not be experiencing that in "Paradise Z", let me just tell you that. First of all, the zombies were fast, agile runners whom made there horrible predatory creature sounds. It was just so bad. And then let's mention the zombie make-up, well lack thereof actually. The zombie make-up in "Paradise Z" was for the most part just people painted a grayish nuance with make-up, and worse yet, the make-up artists didn't even cover all the visible skin, which made for a horrible, sloppy presentation of zombies. Fast and poor make-up zombies, no, not a working nor winning combination right there.

"Paradise Z" came and went without leaving a much as even a dent in the zombie genre. Well, sure, if you enjoy watching pointless nudity and pretty ladies, then why not. But for us that watch the zombie movies for actual zombie contents, like a proper story, good zombie make-up and special effects, a believable apocalyptic world, etc., then "Paradise Z" is not the best of choices.

Sure, I will say that a paradise resort location in Thailand serves as an interesting choice for the filming location. Just a shame that everything else in the movie slipped through without leaving a lasting impression.

I managed to sit through "Paradise Z" to the bitter end. After all, it is a zombie movie. But I can honestly say that I wasn't impressed, much less entertained or enjoying what transpired on the screen. And a lousy script, horrible zombie make-up, pointless characters and a slow pace just didn't help win me over.

My rating of "Paradise Z" lands on a generous three out of ten stars. This movie is not one that brought anything new or useful to the zombie genre. And believe you me, if you skip out on watching it, you will not have been wasting your time, money and effort. Some of us did, so you don't have to.
