Kind of disappointed by this one

I was really disappointed by this one. I kind of expected more out of this special tbh. I thought that Buck was going to be a hassle throughout the film with his con-man attitude but no all we got was a disappointing special that lacked any sort of story-line or structure once so ever. I did not enjoy this one as much as I did The Great Fire of PontyPandy or Heroes of the Storm.

The animation was decent though I kind of expected more of an improvement. The lighting was nice up until it gets to be the afternoon scene at the fire station (not going to give away a whole lot) where the lighting was gray and rather bright. Not a typical kind of light you would find during the afternoon hours

Def not worth the 6.5/10 rating

Doctor Who and Scooby-Doo in Fireman Sam

Warning: Spoilers
This movie of Fireman Sam, as many consider good, yet doesn't seem to outshine the previous movies of Great Fire of Pontypandy and Heroes of the Storm (hurricane one and rain didn't put out the fire goof). At least, I'm starting to like this one more than "Set for Action" movie with whole Hollywood visit and Sam's harsh expulsion from the fire service, caused by Flex Dexter.

Indeed, this is not much a Fireman Sam movie like the previous two, it does have a Scooby-Doo theme in it as Sam's got a mystery to solve, and even Norman is assisting in solving this mystery. There's even UFO sightings and a figure in green alleging to be the "Alien" and question who it is, and why use things like a petrol-powered generator. Sam capturing and unmasking it (as I meant it happens in Scooby-Doo) culprit is...even I knew who it was gonna be.

I didn't like the moment Sarah had broken her arm from the fall down the ravine - feel bad for the unbearable pain she receives. Strangely unlike her, Norman wasn't injured from that fall and he gets reprimanded anyway. I do like his mom's coat (his so-called alien quest coat) he brings on him even Mandy and Jones twins think so ("Our moms didn't go to your auntie Phyllis's wedding").

Somewhere in the movie, I do like the "Lights in the Sky" song performed by Elvis. And there's some laughs like Steele jokingly makes remark about aliens reading Elvis's mind for shepherd's pie recipe when Elvis had his tinfoil hat.

David Tennant - known beloved 10th Doctor in sci-fi series "Doctor Who" - guest stars as Buck Douglas who's some TV celebrity.

As for trivia, there's quite a bit - first time Chief Fire Officer Boyce doesn't appear in this special. And it's the first time Venus gets over to Pontypandy Island, somewhere outskirts of town.
