- [first lines]
- [Hearing doors and floor boards creaking in the middle of the night, Anika decides to investigate]
- Anika Hunter: Who's out there?
- [Anika enters another bedroom and discovers a ghost wearing centuries-old-clothing]
- Josephine Hunter: Where is my love? Where is my one true love?
- Anika Hunter: Are you Josephine? Max and Tess found a notebook that talked about Josephine Hunter's one true love. What are you looking for?
- Josephine Hunter: I'm on a quest for my one true love.
- Anika Hunter: Can I help? I know every inch of this house.
- Josephine Hunter: Yes, please. Do help me.
- Anika Hunter: Where would somebody hide a true love? Was he a knight in armor, 'cause we have one of those...
- [Josephine disappears]
- Anika Hunter: I don't think I'm dreaming...
- [Tess and Max search the Hunter's library for clues]
- Tess Hunter: Anything about Josephine and her one true love?
- Max Hunter: Uh-uh, but I know everything there is to know about Dutch taxes in the 19th century.
- Tess Hunter: Who knows, maybe it will come in handy someday.
- Max Hunter: Yeah, maybe if I become an accountant... with a time machine.
- Tess Hunter: I found something!
- Max Hunter: What?
- Tess Hunter: Josephine Hunter. Born in the 17th century. She's buried right here in Amsterdam. Maybe her one true love is buried next to her. Let's go find out.
- Max Hunter: You mean, like in a cemetery?
- Tess Hunter: No, at a hot dog stand, genius. Of course, a cemetery.
- Max Hunter: Oh, right. Right. A cemetery on Halloween. There's nothing scary about that.
- [Anika hears ghostly laughter]
- Anika Hunter: Josephine, is that you?
- [Sal appears with his voice synthizer]
- Sal Hunter: You're supposed to scared, Anika.
- Anika Hunter: Oh, sorry. Just thought you were a ghost.
- Sal Hunter: What are you doing?
- Anika Hunter: Oh, I'm looking for Josephine. I saw her right here last night. She's a ghost.
- Sal Hunter: There are no such things as ghosts.
- Anika Hunter: Yes, there are.
- Sal Hunter: Not according to science.
- Anika Hunter: Well, you can tell her yourself when we see her again.
- [Molly finds the Hunter children crowded into one bed to protect themselves from ghosts]
- Molly the Cleaning Lady: Good morning. Did everyone sleep well last night.
- Max Hunter: Oh, I slept like a baby. I was up every hour and crying all night.
- Hedwig Hunter: Now you're all here.
- Anika Hunter: Auntie Hedwig?
- Hedwig Hunter: Don't call me that. I'm not your aunt, because I'm a real Hunter!
- Hedwig Hunter: I'm only here to take what's rightfully mine before you little mongrels get your little grubby paws on it.
- Max Hunter: That was you last night.
- Hedwig Hunter: You really think I'm the ghost of Josephine?
- [a sudden breeze blows out the candles and a ghostly voice sends Aunt Hedwig shrieking from the house]
- [last lines]
- Tess Hunter: This must be Josephine's secret room.
- Anika Hunter: [indicating a mannequin wearing centuries old clothing and jewelry] She looks exactly like the Josephine I saw in the hallway.
- Tess Hunter: Maybe there's something in her that could tell us who's Josephine true love was.
- Max Hunter: Maybe the question isn't *who* was her true love, but *what*.
- [Max removes the mannequin's necklace and finding a secret compartment, pulls out a huge blue diamond]
