Memorable hard rock hit that sends a message and awareness.

In 1989 this was one of pop hard rock band "Aerosmith's" biggest hits "Janie's Got a Gun" which was a top 40 radio hit, and the video got plenty of "MTV" airplay. The video has the band singing and clips are shown of a married father with his wife, and he has a teenage daughter who's unhappy wanting to leave home and run away. As this girl is abused by daddy and she takes matters into her own hands as the title of the song tells the story. The video is blunt and sends a message to be aware of child abuse.

Warning: Spoilers
"Aerosmith: Janie's Got a Gun" is pretty self-explanatory as you can read the band's name and song title of the music video referenced in here. It runs for 5 minutes and is from 1989, so soon 30 years old. The star is maybe the director here as this one is from David Fincher's days of directing music videos. Or maybe the star is Steven Tyler once again as his voice is easy to recognize as always. The actress who plays the title character did not manage a career as great as some other actresses like Silverstone or Liv Tyler of course, who appeared in Aerosmith videos. You will find supporting actors here though who are more known like Leslie Ann Warren of course. All in all, I was not too impressed by the video here and not too much by the song either. I am surprised that this is among their most known works. I personally wouldn't call myself a great Aerosmith fan, but I have some songs I like by them for sure. This is not one of them. My suggestion is you skip it. Not even the chorus was catchy and recognition value alone is definitely not enough.
