In Texas, the atheist nine-year old Sheldon Lee Copper is a genius, but innocent and naive since he is only a boy. His family is composed by his beloved Christian mother Mary Cooper, who tries to protect Sheldon. His father George Cooper Sr., who was a football coach in Galveston, but now works as a school. Their older son is the young teenager George Cooper, who plays football but is not smart as Sheldon. And Sheldon's twin sister Missy Cooper, who is a witty girl. Despite his age, Sheldon has just joined the high-school and his intelligence associated to his naivety brings problems to the Copper family, to the teachers and to the other students.
