The title "Lil Dicky: Pillow Talking" implies that this is a 2017 music video by the artist in the title for the song in the title, but I am not entirely sure about that. One reason is that it's very long at 11 minutes, the other is that it really didn't satisfy me from the music perspective. Lil Dicky sounded like a stoned gangster rapper from start to finish and the story was just generally very bizarre. We have a guy and a (pretty hot) girl having a ONS and then, while still in bed, they start discussing life, aliens, dinosaurs and all kinds of other meaningful stuff. And there is some weird animated brain character in bed with them in this otherwise 100% live action film. Oh yeah, Oscar nominee John C. Reilly is in it too with a really brief cameo playing God. Blink at the wrong time and you are gonna miss him. The most irritating thing here though was probably Lil Dicky also voicing the chick and this is one of the core reasons of why this just cannot be categorized as anything other than comedy, no drama, no romance, no fantasy. But the comedy component is also just mediocre at best. If there is any reason to see it or why Reilly appeared in here, it's for the strangeness of it all. Writer Burd apparently has never written another "film" before and I also have not heard so far about director Yacenda. All in all, this one gets a thumbs-down from me. Not recommended as it is not even funny enough for this relatively short runtime.
