Sex & Nudity

  • None overall.
  • Six appears to only be wearing a raincoat however this might be wrong.

Violence & Gore

  • The players character can die in various ways including strangulation, getting thrown into an oven in which deaths implyed, and direct impact of falling onto the ground, just to name a few. The deaths usually have the screen fade out during the act or directly after, implying death but occasionaly show the character dead.
  • Some violent refrences, such as a chair is seen under a rope symbolizing an alleged suicide. This is debatable however as the chair would've been knocked over and the chair is too short for the hanging man to have jumped off.

Profanity

  • The game has no real use of words, so profanity, or any semblence of a real word at all is non-existent.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Bottles can be seen throughout the game.
  • When one of the antagonists are introduced, he is presumed to be smoking. Easy to miss.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Six is chased when seen by "monsters." If they catch her, they will, in most cases, grab her as the screen fades to black implying death.
  • Alot of creepy imagery and suspenseful tension throughout.
  • Disfigured and abnormally large characters are seen. These are often enemies.
  • Overall can have a very eerie feel to the gameplay depending on the player.
  • Should be okay for ages 12-13+ who can handle some frequent horror elements and some scary images.
  • This game present strong scenes for a mature audience.
  • Cannibalism is highly implied throughout the entirety of the game.
  • Little nightmares has a lot of lore and theories behind it which you can look up on the internet. Most of the theories imply suicide and death. One example is the hanging man, where you can find bloody handprints on a fridge and then a trail leading to the chair which is used to kill him, indicating this was not suicide.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • There are parts of the game where the protagonist is starving and needs to eat something or else she will die. Two of these sections have her eat a rat caught in a trap and a small creature called a nome both are which have scary music accompanying these cutscenes. Both of which have a little bit of blood but can be very disturbing to some players. The last of these instances has her bite the neck of the main antagonist, a geisha woman, and absorb life stealing powers from her.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The ending is extremely disturbing and unsettling. The main character inherits the powers of one of the antagonist and goes on a murder rampage. As they walk to the exit of the ship, many monstrous guest try to attack the character, but she sucks the souls out of them and they drop dead on the floor. There's no gore. Just a black shadow comes out of the body. The player can hear the screams and the music that plays in the background is unsettling. There are also some flashing lights.
