- TriviaDwayne Johnson said he tried hard to get Jason Momoa to play the role of Hobbs's brother, but scheduling issues prevented it from happening. However, Johnson gave fans hope for a future collaboration, adding, "Next Hobbs movie for sure." Vin Diesel then proceeded to go against Dwayne's plans by casting Momoa in Fast X as the sadistic, androgynous and flamboyant son of Fast Five's main villain, Hernan Reyes.
- GoofsWhen the attack on Samoa begins, it is supposed to be right before dawn. However, by the end of the attack it is midday. Since there was a 30 minute timer set right before the battle starts and just finishing up when the battle ends, it is clear that only 30 minutes passed. It should still be just after dawn when the action completes.
- Quotes
British Customs Officer: [sees the name Mike Oxsmaull on Luke's boarding pass] My cock's small?
Luke Hobbs: [Embarrassed] I go by Michael.
- Crazy credits2 mid-credits scenes with Ryan Reynolds, and one post-credits scene with Hobbs getting his own back on Shaw, for his airport stop 'n' search.
- Alternate versionsThe ending is slightly different, depending on where you watch it. On TubiTV, for example, the climax is followed by a denouement consisting of Hobbs with Shaw arguing the various merits of sidekicks; shots of a cityscape; Queenie in jail and visited by Shaw and Hattie, who give her a suspicious birthday cake; Hobbs going home and introducing Sam to her grandmother. This is followed by a short scene with Champ calling Hobbs, warning him about a second virus, then more credits, then Hobbs calling Shaw, whom has been snitched out to the police, then the remainder of the credits. Finally, we return to the Hobbs and Champ phone call, and the film ends. In a version shown in Russia, however, after Champ has warned Hobbs about the second virus and the credits restart, the rest of Champ's call is shown on a side-by-side with the credits, followed by the remaining credits, and finally the Hobbs call to Shaw, ending the film. In summary, the order of the calls with Champ and Shaw have been reversed.

A self aware fast and furious
I got to see an early preview on Tuesday night which was cool. I have seen all the fast and furious movies and although I understand the appeal and like the characters I felt like the movies became increasingly ridiculous with the writing as time progressed.
While I think most people can probably agree with me on that point, my bigger issue was the over serious tone in conjunction with the movies. It is as if everyone in them is in denial that the stories were becoming increasingly ridiculous.
This movie however takes a different approach. I think Dwayne and Jason get the appeal and ran with it while subtly acknowledging and making light of the over the top nature of the story. This is possibly my favorite entry, even though I do like the first few movies in the series and would like to see if they could apply this tone to the main series if it continues in any way.
One final thought, if you like the pg-13 Deadpool 2 "once upon a Deadpool", and like fast and furious then you are gonna love this one. I won't say anymore than that but I think you will see what I mean. Make sure to stay for the credits scene too.
