Call of Duty is playing with fire lately—backfire, to be precise. Fans must be hoping they are finally getting over the poor phase with Black Ops Gulf War after coming across a plethora of issues dwindling their interest in the game.
Many of those who know the current state of the game know that if rumors are true, the next CoD game may pull the franchise from the rock and hard-place it is in today.
A Ton of Content Won’t Help Captivate Fans This Time
It will take more than pulling a Fortnite to get back into the game. CoD has been trying to add a ton of content, but that makes it look like the franchise is simply raining arrows in hopes that some of them will hit the desired spot. However, eliminating some discrepancies could just be the way they haven’t tried yet. So what are they?...

Call of Duty: Zombies from 2011-12 was a canceled project, which was developed by Raven. This was revealed by a former Call of Duty (Cod) developer who had worked on several franchise titles from Black Ops to Cold War and Warzone.
Call of Duty: Zombies was revealed to be a stand-alone microtransactions-based live-service title modeled after 2015’s Call of Duty: Online. The Cod-branded project was codenamed Project Zed, as an experimental project, but never saw the light of day eventually. Reasons were also revealed as to why Treyarch initially turned down the project which has also never been attempted since then.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was an underwhelming finale from Sledgehammer Games and Activision. Fans and critics alike were upset with the short campaign that came with a hefty price tag. Games like CoD need something extra like alternate game modes to keep the player count in check.
Zombies were introduced to the franchise by Treyarch in the Black Ops trilogy, which was then integrated into later entries of the franchise including Modern Warfare 3.
Treyarch Fought For Zombies In Call Of Duty
Call of Duty players had a blast with earlier versions of Zombies.
New information about a standalone Zombies game has surfaced that barely made it into development stages before it could see the light of day almost a decade ago, but it didn’t pass beyond design documents. It would have been the first true battle royale game to include microtransactions and other live-service concepts.

The Alien Report: "The Alien Report follows "The Abductee" (Braxton Hale), an everyday American who finds himself hijacked by extraterrestrial beings and taken on a terrifying journey of self-preservation, running afoul of classic "grey aliens", disturbing human-et hybrids, and the U.S. government's shady Men in Black. Based on countless documented reports made by self-proclaimed abductees, The Alien Report is a meticulous, straight-faced look at what an real-life alien abduction would be like, from the perspective of first-person cameras.
The Alien Report has screened at festivals worldwide, winning awards in the U.S., UK, Australia, and Brazil. Shot on iPhone and GoPro cameras as a non-traditional narrative composed of re-assembled found footage, the picture plays out as both a sci-fi thriller and first-person documentary. It is the intended first chapter in a trilogy of films about extraterrestrial abductions.
The Alien Report was directed by Patrick Donnelly and produced by Kevin Schroeder and Michael Sell.

Developers are finally doing something to make Call of Duty fans happy. Alongside the rumors of Zombies being a part of the next CoD game, players are going to see the return of a beloved map in Warzone Season 3. The news will be welcomed by most, as the game has been annoying fans for quite some time.
Developers have been adding a ton of content, focusing more on collaboration than gameplay. Unlike the original Modern Warfare series, the recent game in its reboot was a huge disappointment. The winds may have been in Activision’s favor for a long time, but the company doesn’t seem to have utilized the advantage to turn the tides in its favor.

The Marvel Zombies are coming to the MCU. The animated alternate timeline will see the heroes and villains of the Marvel Universe facing a plaque that turns all metahumans into the walking dead. However, is Disney willing to go for gore and a mature rating?
Possibly! According to Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming, Brad Winderbaum, horror fans may rest easy knowing that the blood and guts of the comics could be represented on Disney+.
While speaking with IGN, Winderbaum did not precisely confirm that the show would be intended for mature audiences, but he is pretty sure that Marvel Zombies isn’t going to fly with a TV-Y7(-Fv) or TV-14 rating:
“In terms of more mature animation, yeah, we’re making a Marvel Zombies show right now that is pretty intense that’s for sure a TV-ma show.“
The show has no official release date yet, but it is said to premiere this year.

There have been a whole host of movies featuring Frankenstein’s monster. The first appeared in 1910 and the most famous and best is still 1931’s Frankenstein. Unlike most genre enthusiasts, horror fans face a unique challenge when trying to share their favorite media with friends and family. While almost anyone can handle watching a rom-com or a space opera (even if they don’t necessarily enjoy the experience), you can get into serious trouble by recommending Martyrs or Cannibal Holocaust to someone who isn’t yet versed in horror.
This is even more challenging when it comes to video games, with the added level of interactivity making scares more intense and raising the odds of alienating a loved one with an excessively disturbing recommendation. With this in mind, we’ve decided to come up with a list highlighting six gateway horror games that you can share with friends, co-workers and even children without risking life-long trauma!
As usual, don’t forget to comment below with your own non-m-rated horror favorites if you think we missed a particularly fun one.

The slasher arrives on the streaming service much sooner than expected, too. Look for Thanksgiving on Netflix beginning tomorrow, February 17.
In Thanksgiving, “After a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts – the birthplace of the infamous holiday.”
The cast for the feature length slasher movie includes Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Jalen Thomas Brooks (“Walker”), Milo Manheim (Zombies), Nell Verlaque (“Big Shot”), Gina Gershon (“Chucky”), Tim Dillon and Rick Hoffman (Hostel).
Roth wrote the script with Jeff Rendell. Roger Birnbaum and Eli Roth produced.

The MCU has an abundance of projects lined up for the next few years. Given the interconnected nature of these projects, fans are increasingly perceiving it as a challenging endeavor akin to homework, involving the tracking of numerous movies and a couple of Disney+ series to fully grasp references, post-credit scenes, and the current movie’s plot. While this approach was effective when the MCU was centered around a few characters with only a couple of movies, the expansion with multiple superhero teams, new characters, and intricate plots has resulted in a continually expanding homework load.
To address this, the ‘Marvel Spotlight’ initiative was introduced. When a series is released under the “Spotlight” banner, it signifies a grounded, character-driven, and, most importantly, standalone approach. It may not be directly connected to the broader MCU, or at the very least, viewers do not need to watch other shows or movies to comprehend the narrative.

MCU has plenty of projects planned in the next few years and due to the interconnected nature of these projects, fans are starting to see it as sort of a homework where you need to follow dozens of movies and at least a couple of Disney+ series to really understand all the references, post-credit scenes and the plot of the movie that you’re currently watching.
While that worked when MCU was primarily about a few characters with a couple of movies under its belt, as the MCU expands with several superhero teams, new characters, and new plots, the homework keeps expanding as well. This is why the ‘Marvel Spotlight’ initiative was started. I was a kid just as the drive-in craze was coming to a close. I can recall packing into our giant boat of a Chrysler station wagon and trekking out to see some first-run movies with my family back in the early 80s. I vividly remember seeing The Muppets Take Manhattan, Superman III (which terrified young me to no end), and Return of the Jedi on the massive screens of the Starlight Drive-In that stood for decades after the projectors were shut down and the lot converted into a gigantic swap-meet. Unfortunately, I was far too young to take in the legendary exploitation fare of the period. Sometimes I wish I had been born fifteen or twenty years earlier so I could have experienced the heyday of Aip, New World, and their ilk firsthand, but living through the dawn of the home video boom wasn’t a bad trade off.

The search for Supergirl is one step closer to completion.
Screen tests for the role took place yesterday, according to several sources, with the field now narrowed to two actresses.
Milly Alcock, best known for her work on HBO’s Game of Thrones spinoff House of the Dragon as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, and Meg Donnelly, who starred in Disney Channel’s hit musical franchise Zombies and who voices the character in recent and current DC animated movies, both tested in Atlanta, per sources. Exclusive: We are hearing that DC Studios is planning to test actresses soon to star in Supergirl, and that Milly Alcock, Emilia Jones and Meg Donnelly are in the mix.
There is a chance the studio could make a straight offer to a star, but all things are pointing toward screen tests for actresses, which will go down within the next month or so, we hear.
Deadline understands that natch, DC Studios co-boss James Gunn is definitely part of the process, as this is a character who likely will make its debut via a cameo in a DC project that isn’t Supergirl. The search is ongoing for a director.
Alcock is best known for her lead role on HBO’s Game of Thrones spinoff House of the Dragon, playing Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. She is repped by CAA, Shanahan Management, Entertainment 360 and Curtis Brown.

Despite recent reports saying X-Men '97 would see a Disney+ release in early 2024, a new report from Marvel indicates that this may not end up being the case.
X-Men '97 will be the third fully-animated addition to the MCU, following What If...? and I Am Groot, both of which saw second seasons released in 2023.
Beyond that, as Phases 5 and 6 continue, Marvel plans to bring in even more animated content, with shows like Marvel Zombies and Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (originally Spider-Man: Freshman Year).

The MCU’s performance in 2023 fell short of expectations, marked by a string of releases, where only ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ and ‘Loki’ Season 2 achieved success. Other projects faced setbacks, with ‘Secret Invasion’ emerging as one of the least well-received MCU shows to date. ‘The Marvels’ claimed undesirable records such as the lowest domestic box office and the sharpest second-weekend drop in revenue.
Despite these challenges, the MCU perseveres. Bob Iger emphasized the importance of prioritizing quality over quantity for Marvel. Surprisingly, despite numerous project announcements in recent months, the slated releases for 2024 include just one movie and five shows.

2023 wasn’t all that good for the MCU; over the course of the year, several movies and shows have been released, with only ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ and ‘Loki’ Season 2 being successful. The rest of the projects flopped, with ‘Secret Invasion’ being one of the worst MCU shows in recent times and ‘The Marvels’ claiming all the bad records like the lowest domestic box office and lowest 2nd-weekend drop in revenue.
Still, the MCU continues, and Bob Iger himself commented that Marvel should focus on quality over quantity. Considering how many new projects have been announced in the last few months, it’s surprising to see only one movie and five shows releasing in 2024.
