An Argento Icon (2017)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
This twenty-two minute interview with Gildo Di Marco from director Federico Caddeo is one of the most interesting featurettes I've seen. Di Marco appeared in three Dario Argento movies: THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE, FOUR FLIES ON GREY VELVET and IL TRAM. The actor talks about how he got into the business and then how he ended up meeting Argento. From here Di Marco talks about the three films that he made with Argento and what their working relationship was like. From here the actor discusses how he lost contacted with the director and his thoughts on what happened and what he wished had happened. I was shocked to see how tender this interview was. As the actor states, he's pretty shocked that people still want to interview him and that anyone would be interested in listening to him. Hearing him talk about Argento in such a tender way makes one see how special Di Marco knows this period in his life was. There's also talk about regret that is quite interesting to listen to. This is certainly a fascinating interview and one fans of Argento will enjoy.
