Poor casting and soggy script = Subpar Stormy effort
lor_4 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Assigned to Wicked's "Passions" banner aimed at couples (and if salvageable, some pay-cable use with the hardcore stuff removed), "Indiscretions" is a weak Stormy Daniels vehicle for Asa Akira. What might have been a solid romantic thriller (that durable genre from whence mainstream hits like "Gone Girl" continue to please audiences) is instead stillborn.

Main problem is casting Damon Dice, the young bad guy of the piece. With the diminution of interest in narrative porn lately (gonzo rules the roost), the job requirement of Acting Ability has been dropped in recruiting fresh male talent. So the new crop to replace aging youngsters (think Rocco Reed, Dane Cross, Seth Gamble or even now-middle aged Tommy Pistol) is loaded with non-actors like Dice, or as I picture him: No Dice.

He plays a 21-year-old neighbor when Asa moves out of her house to new digs, splitsville after she catches hubby Brad Armstrong cheating. Asa is a doctor with a beautiful daughter (Ziggy Star -impressive new actress who reminds me of the all-time great Chloe) and best friend Britney Amber.

Stormy's script isn't very interesting, as the "maybe we can get back together" principal plot line is extremely tired, and over-the-hill Armstrong plays it flat and goody two-shoes most of the way. At times he is so weak I imagined Michael Landon directing Victor French in one of his "inspirational" religioso TV series -hardly a role model for talented pornographic auteur Stormy.

Asa also has an off day here, understandable considering the lack of support from her male co- stars. Dice has a one-night stand with her and becomes an obsessive stalker, but the cat can't act, reads lines under protest and fails to stir the thrills and sense of danger needed for such a story to play. Instead we get little to chew on between the requisite XXX sex scenes, and an extremely poor quickie "tie up the loose ends" finale in which Stormy regular Jack Vegas (uncredited) pops up as a cop to talk us through the ending.

Besides staring at the lovely Asa, Britney and Ziggy, extraneous sex is provided by the hot Rachel Starr, cast as Brad's mistress. And seeming to prove Stormy's being way hard up in the male young 'uns talent pool, Ziggy's boyfriend is played by Lucas Frost, another newcomer who can't create a character out of a paper bag. It's sad: the gatekeepers of Adult Cinema apparently have one and only one requirement for a male breaking into the biz: bring a big dick to the audition. I would have thought that was a necessary but not a sufficient condition for employment.
