The Nutty Professor: Perfecting the Formula (2004)

*** (out of 4)

This fifteen-minute featurette is a fun look back at the making of THE NUTTY PROFESSOR from 1963. Jerry Lewis talks about his love for the Jekyll and Hyde film from Spencer Tracy and then he starts talking about his seven screenplays for this and how the eighth and ninth had an additional writer thrown in. We also get some comments from Lewis biographer James Neibaur as well as co-star Stella Stevens. If you're a fan of THE NUTTY PROFESSOR then you'll certainly enjoy this featurette as the actor tells some nice stories about the production of the film and even covers details on whether or not Dean Martin was an influence on Buddy Love. Stevens gets a few moments to talk about her role and Neibaur does a nice job of explaining where this film fell in regards to the actor's solo work at Paramount.
