PatriciaVonne25 November 2018
Huerta de San Vicente is the 3rd Animation Film by Patricia Vonne. It took home the "Best Animation Award" at the Madrid International Festival in 2017 and continues to grow in accolades with a 2018 "El Rey Award" at Barcelona International Film Festival, and "Excellent Animation Award" at San Francisco International New Concept Film Festival. It was also an "Official Selection" at the Paris Short Film Festival, Nice International Film Festival, Paris Independent Film Festival, San Francisco Latino Film Festival, Cine Las Americas International Film Festival, NYC Animation Film Festival & San Antonio Film Festival. "Huerta de San Vicente" is an homage to Federico Garcia Lorca who is one of the most influential Spanish poets of the 20th century. He resurrected & revitalized the Flamenco cante jondo & Spanish poetry. Patricia visited his home in Granada, Spain and his spirit in the house was so palpable that it inspired the song & animation. The song was the Grand Prize winner in the Latin category for the John Lennon Songwriting contest 2009. Using original illustrations and stop motion photography. Illustrations by Patricia Vonne & Michael Martin. Rotoscoped by Johnny Villarreal. Music, lyrics, shot & edited by Patricia Vonne.
