There is no doubt about it. This is the best WWE No Mercy in a long time, even if parts of it, could had been a little better.

Warning: Spoilers
While, 'No Mercy' has always been a Smackdown PPV, the 'Raw' show, talent, really put a good show. I know that some people might disagree with me. After all, 'no good deed goes unpunished', but I have no regard in the statement, just said. This WWE PPV was honestly pretty damn good. Los Angeles, CA got a far better product, than the last time, a special television PPV came to their shore. 2017's 'No Mercy' beat 2015's 'Hell in a Cell', anytime of the week. While, the preshow was forgettable, with Elias Sampson facing Apollo Crews; the opening match of the main card, was pretty good, with the Miz defending his Intercontinental Championship against challenger, Jason Jordan. I just hate the baby face father/son storyline with Kurt Angle. It's would be, a lot better if this was a heel storyline, with the authority figure, helping his own blood, get ahead. You know, something similar, in the way, old-school, TNA (Total Nonstop Action) Wrestling got Ethan Carter III, over. At least, the fans would be, more invested, than being lukewarm to Jordan. Anyways, that brings us, to Bray Wyatt versus Finn Balor. I found this match and the storyline that goes with it, very boring and predictable. Without spoiling too much of it, all I got to say, is WWE have really mismanage this feud. Gone are the days, where Wyatt seems like a serious threat. Eater of Worlds, more like Eater of Pins. After that, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins fought to defend their Raw Tag Team Championship against Cesaro and Sheamus. Surprising, this match was, as good, as their 2017's 'Summerslam' match, even if the build-up to that PPV was a lot better. I really dig the big double-bomb spot, toward the end of the match. I though the contest was over. There were plenty of twist & turns, and plenty of close-calls to make this; one of the best matches of the night. Mad props, goes to everybody, especially Cesaro whom finish the match, even after suffering a really bad, gruesome mouth injury. What a work-horse! This contest, was follow up, by the women fatal-five way match, where Alexa Bliss had to defend her Raw Women Championship against the likes of Nia Jax, Sasha Banks, Emma, and Bayley. This match was also good, however, I wish, the match was a little longer. It was way too quick. Plus, the ending to the match was a bit awkward. In the end, this match was filler. It didn't establish any new feuds. The next match on the card, also had pacing problems. Don't get me wrong, the fight between John Cena & Roman Reigns was excited at parts, but it was also a bit slow to start & too abrupt to finish. Not only that, but every move set, during the match, seem a little too plan out, to the point that it came across, as somewhat predictable. There were hardly any surprises. As for the passing the torch/ exit to Hollywood storyline; clearly, WWE should had save it for any of the big four PPVs, rather than a B-show like 'No Mercy'. Nevertheless, it was a no-win situation, regardless; seeing how little, people honestly care, about these two polarize wrestlers, due to their in ring work & on screen-personalities. Naturally, there will be some unwarranted common complain, about the two, after the match, due to Cena's hypocritical turn, away from the square circle, Roman's forced-push to the top, against fans wishes. However, for the most part, the match was watchable, and somewhat entertaining, even if the feud, mirrors the Cena/Rock 'Once in a Lifetime' 2012 fight, in many ways. It could had been better, but end up, just fine. It was a lot better, than the next match, which saw, cruiserweight champion, Neville defend his title against challenger, Enzo Amore. While, I wouldn't call this match; one of the worst, Amore ever had. I do have to say, I seen better matches, from him. Despite popular belief, Amore does have some in-ring talent, and deserve more of a showcase to show that. Sadly, this match wasn't that. It just played off, the idea that Amore has to take harsh heelish short-cuts, rather than, just baby facing outsmarting his opponents. You know, WWE, could do something similar in the way, Eddie Guerrero use to do in 2003, but choose, not to. Instead, he come across, as a man who can't wrestle. It was a bad direction. Regardless, the feud did, spark interested in the cruiserweight division, even if it's for all the wrong reasons. That's brings us to the final match on the card. Champion, Brock Lesnar Vs Challenger, Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship. It was pretty good match, despite that the fact, that 'the Monster among Men' has a limited wrestling skill set & Lesnar laziness hasn't been, giving WWE, his all, in the last several years. The only problem, I got, about the match is the safe corporatize outcome. Like the Roman/Cena contest, this match also makes the results of the oncoming 'Universal Championships' matches until 'Wrestlemania 34' in 2018, seems very predictable. In the end, it could had been a little better. More twist and turns, would help the match, not seem so stagnant. Overall: I would still recommended seeing this temporary somewhat entertaining event to anybody who love wrestling, even with its flaws. Nevertheless, just note, WWE didn't strike when the iron is hot, strike hard, or show enough, 'no mercy' to make it, stand out in the long run. Sadly, there will be 'No Mercy' for WWE 'No Mercy', once the sands of time, get a hand of it, but for right now. It's worth checking out.
