Life in a glas

No pun intended - also some would say it is not really life. Well anyway I'd say. The movie starts off as a drama and quickly turns into a silly road movie. Though even more surprising for me: the main actress actually was quite convincing. I am used otherwise when it comes to her performing.

But that inconsistency when it comes to tone, which I reckon can be described as real life in at least some instances and over the top madness most of the other time, really will either make or break the movie for you. Not sure if you have to be intoxicated or just in the mood for this to work. I reckon it is the latter.

Having said that the movie has some interesting "cameos" and performances - if you buy into the craziness and how it all unfolds. Not necessarily bad, just unsure of what it really wants to be. On the other hand it can be life affirming to some ... who are into this kind of stuff ... who am I to judge.

Wonderful Jella, wonderful plot, cute goat

Warning: Spoilers
5 stars? I can only imagine that people who watched the movie because of Matthias Schweighoefer rated the movie so low since he has so little screen time. I watched the movie because of Jella Haase (and the goat and the story), and I was not disappointed at all. It's a wonderful story about a young girl trying to find her place in life, struggling with a grave loss and finding her own courage while experiencing not one but many adventures and meeting interesting people along the way. The cast is perfect even in the smallest roles, Jella Haase performs perfect as always, the goat is super cute and Matthias Schweighoefers (little but momentous) appearance is the cherry on top. The story is great, heartwarming, funny (the scene with the wasps is ultimately hilarious) and exaggerated but rather believable - with the exception of the character of Ben - he acts great and is essential for the movie's plot, for me, however, he is a bit of a distraction/does not perfectly fit because for me it is about a girl fiinding her way - and why does it always have to be a knight showing up and saving the day?? But otherwise: great movie to think and feel good.

This movie is so sweet! It touched my heart and my mind. What shall I say? Furthermore it contained subtle social criticism.

Just. Wonderful.
