Not great
bb_kruis30 August 2020
My 6 year old son had a couple of good laughs, but the story really isn't about anything.

I felt I was looking at a very cheap production with bad animation. Knowing this movie is Made by the same people that created Madagascar, big trip was a big disappointment.

Not great animations but!!!!!
cynet-523321 February 2021
Ok the animation of this movie isn't the level we are expected to see in a kids film that had been released at the cinema in 2019.

I've just watched it with my 4 year old daughter and she loved it especially the baby panda 🐼 character.

Personally for me I found the movie ok for cheap entertainment and story. People forget it's for young children and not adults.

I gave it 4 stars as it kept my daughter quiet for the whole of the time.

Watchable, but not a memorable animated movie...
paul_haakonsen29 December 2020
Well, the 2019 animated movie "Big Trip" was watchable and actually turned out to be an adequately entertaining animated movie. It wasn't, however, a particularly outstanding or memorable one though.

The storyline told in "Big Trip" was good enough, but it was just lacking that certain comedy element that many other animated movies have, you know, the animated movies that actually bring about laughs and good entertainment. So without that particular ingredient, "Big Trip" just didn't stand out among other animated movies also released in 2019.

I sat down to watch "Big Trip" with my 10 year old son, and he enjoyed it well enough. So whereas other animated movies appeal to both adults and children alike, "Big Trip" was more aimed at the younger audience.

The characters in the story were interesting enough, some more than others of course, as it is in every movie. Both my and I were liking the wolf, Janus, the most of all the characters in the story.

The art style in the animated movie was interesting and good enough, however it just wasn't outstanding. Now, mind you, I am not saying that it was in any way not good or anything, but it was just not having that special appeal to it that you see in some other animated movies.

If you happen to have the chance to sit down and watch "Big Trip", do so, but you shouldn't rush out to look for it, as it just wasn't that entertaining. My rating of the 2019 animated movie "Big Trip" lands on a very mediocre five out of ten stars.

Why?! God... Why?!
pauldavidtaylor28 April 2019
A truly horrendous animation movie, with zero to no sense, no comedy value, no anything. My mind boggles at the fact that this made it to the commercial circuit at all.

I am looking sideways at the fact that this has garnered an "above average" score on IMDB, as well as the fact that I rated it a 2* movie and a minute after posting, the average score went up by two-tenths. The score seems to be sustained by bots.

This is easily a movie for toddlers who react to loud noises, but are unable to understand a plot... because this has none. Animation is rubbish, the writing is simply out-of-this-world-terrible, sound editing the worst, and the soundtrack... Jeebus, there was a moment in the movie where they even played Boney M.

This truly is a *bad* movie.

I would advise parents who don't want to lobotomize their children via the 7th Art to stay away from this.

Warning: Spoilers
Terrible movie! Whoever made this just threw stuff together and did not take their time on it. I would not recommend this for any kid. It also teaches bad things like calling someone a mean name. (The bear calls the rabbit names). Not a good movie at all. Horrible. Water of money.

I don't understand the bad reviews
inesrocks13 February 2021
The movie is fun to watch even for adults. Yes it might not be comparable to Ice Age etc., but still it's humorous and interesting to watch.

milton-714932 June 2019
From the moment this "movie" started you could sense it was going to be real rubbish, well I was wrong, this is beyond rubbish it is absolutely rock bottom junk. Story and dialogue seem to be created by Third graders, corny, dull and soooooo boring. A shock to the world of animation I can't believe this made mainstream it is disrespectful to all the quality animations out there. Please go away!

Bamboo forest calls!

Recently, cartoons are becoming more and more popular. Not only children but also adults gladly watch them on the big screen. Cartoons nowadays are made not only in large Hollywood studios but in Russian companies as well. And I' m glad to tell, that our artists polish their skills year after year and have already pleased us with a considerable amount of really memorable and vivid pictures. Now it was the turn of the "Big Journey", which, in my opinion, turned out to be superb. The story begins with a stork, who, because of a small accident, sent the package to the wrong parents and the little panda found itself hundreds of kilometers from the place where it was supposed to be delivered safe and sound. However, you shouldn't worry about the baby... Well, maybe a little worry will do... Because the bear, called Mik-Mik swore to take it home, straight to China. In general, the cartoon turned out to be positive and vigorous. A few years ago, there was already a cartoon with the title "Big Journey", but I want to say that the Russian version was even more fun than the American one. The plots are completely different, as well as impressions after viewing. You will surely have something to laugh at, but do not forget that this story has its own lyrical part, and it cannot help but be touched, because there is nothing better when families are reunited and the time of the strongest embraces comes. The "Big adventure" was great. It may be a little bit childish, but do not forget about who the cartoons are for. The younger ones will definitely be interested, although adults will not be bored either.

So boring and dull. One of the worst animations I've ever watched.
XueHuaBingYu30 September 2019
The Big Trip is one of those animations that I've stopped watching after some minutes. The animation is so boring as I nearly fell asleep. During the first 8 and half minutes, I was trying to have some patience and watch the animation. But because it's so boring, I stopped watching after 8 and half minutes.

When I saw this animation on a website, I thought it would be interesting to watch. But I was wrong. I admit that the plot seemed to be interesting. That's why I fell for it. But when the animation was started, I've found that it's very boring and dull. Moreover, the animation seemed to be adapted from Kungfu panda animation. I mean the characters are little bit alike. Plus, the animation skill needs to be better. The way the mouths move when the characters speak isn't the same with the words they say. Furthermore, the voice artists are a little bit bad. The voice acting needs to be improved.

All in all, the animation seems to be a good one outside, but it isn't inside. I admit that I've just watched the first 8 and half minutes, so, I don't know how the end turns out. But as for me, if the beginning part is so boring, I always stop watching no matter how much the end is great. So, to conclude this review, the animation is so boring and thus, I stopped watching. If I were you, I won't watch this animation and I will get the other ones to watch. There are a lot of great animations out there. I'm quite sure that you'd find a better one than this.

Bad animation, nonsensical story, old jokes
teresaschmidt124 January 2020
I watch a fair number of kids movies as part of my job, and this is far and away the worst movie I've ever seen. The story makes no sense, the animation looks like it's from at least 15 years ago, and the "jokes" consist mostly of farts and randomly inserted slo-mo bits. Random characters with random "quirks" and mental illnesses do nothing to improve the sketchy plot line. Even the 2- and 3-year old kids I'm watching with know this movie is terrible!

Tedious, not funny, no coherent storyline
zantvliet5 July 2020
It's been a while since I saw a movie so meaningless and tedious. The story is paper thin and not well executed. It's more a gathering of single scènes and characters, than one coherent story. The dialogues are terrible, and what is supposed to be funny, is not funny at all. They constantly make use of the same cliche tricks: slow motion, delayed sounds and close-ups (when falling and screaming) and lots of screaming (especially the bear). Too predictable and therefor it gets boring really quickly. Some scenes totally fly out of the bend (the dreams, the scene with the frightened wolf), and in general they are way too long. I do not totally agree with my fellow reviewers that the animations were bad. But all in all this movie sucks so bad, that nothing can compensate for it. My kids liked the movie. I did not. After the first 15 minutes I was already fed up with it. It was a loooooooong sit for me.

This movie is so bad
cmetcalf-350481 February 2020
This movie is so bad I had to right a review while watching with my seven year old. The music is terrible and doesn't match the scenes. The acting is horrific. The mouths aren't synced with the voices. I've never watched a kids movie angry in my life. I'm literary angry while watching this. Lol. My kid hasn't shown any expression throughout. So many things wrong with this garbage. Stay far away.

Delivery fail
PellyTelly2 May 2019
It so happens that you seem to be doing your job well but troubles fall on your poor head as a heavy rain day after day... Such problems the stork from the baby delivery service of the faces. This time instead of sending the little panda to his parents in China he confuses the locations, and grumpy Russian brown bear Mik-Mik receives an unexpected package. The situation is not easy, because the child needs parents, real ones, not random. So, the bear with quite unexpected comrades have to start a long journey to China in search for baby's relatives. Long and dangerous journey awaits. Our friends are going to go through a lot of adventures, some of which will be very funny, and others incredibly dangerous. "Big Journey" reminds me of the good old "Madagascar" and "Ice Age", where the animals also had to travel through long distances in order to finally fulfill their dream. However, with all respect to the Hollywood projects, Russian one turned out to be not worse. It is pretty original, with its colorful humor and wonderful dialogues. And the most interesting is that each of the animals has its own individuality. Their characters are written with all the features, and no one drops out of the friendly rescue team for a minute. It is noteworthy that one of the screenwriters of the "Big Journey" is Billy Frolik. By the way, he is one of the authors of Madagascar, and this already indicates that the cartoon is at least worthy of attention. "A great journey" pleased me with excellent humor, deep morality, modern animation, and lovely characters. I advise you to take children with you, they will definitely like it.

Unbearable
hrlorkin9 March 2020
I never use my phone in a cinema but this was the only way I could possibly endure the experience. It was repetitive and weird, with a story line that a six year old could write better. Don't bother wasting your time.

The animation is good but the story line was so bad it was only surpassed by the worst acting I've ever witnessed. Truly awful.

susanabinder2 February 2020
Storyarchs make no sense, characters are unsympathetic, dialogues are forced, all in all trying too hard to be fun and funny. Didn't enjoy at all. My daughter (7) liked it.

Terrible
ben-8214615 March 2020
The plot turns a new corner every 5 minutes with the introduction of a new character. The acting is flat and the dialogue is stilted and emotionless; it seems more like they're reading the script from a page. Would've walked out if I hadn't brought the kids.

My soul left my body
Tray-z3 August 2020
Big Trip is an animated movie that did so many things wrong that I don't even know where to begin. It was painful to sit through even a minute of the bad animating, cringy jokes and empty story line. The story did nothing for the characters and fell flat on the emotional aspect (I couldn't feel anything throughout this whole movie). The story itself could have been a fun concept if done right, but it was so empty and seemed cheap that it, in my opinion, could only be (slighty) enjoyable by toddlers. In conclusion, if you want to spend your money on this, be my guest, but know that you have been warned. xoxo tray-z
