I though I might like this in a dark horse kind of way. The Australia angle got my attention. I understand this was a farce and a romp but the acting was so over the top, I can't even believe these people were professionals. But a few have some pretty respectable credentials. Maybe the direction. The two leads were OK. Disappointed.

Im 30 minutes in, and the acting is mediocre at best. The plot is pretty dismal. And the fight about birth control and having kids while a real issue felt less than real.

I haven't turned it off yet. But I still might. I can only play so much solitaire on the phone at one time.

Couldn't understand half the words the actor were saying because the background noise and music was very loud and distracting. Dialog might have been funny if i could have heard it.

This was so stupid. The plot could have been ok but it was so poorly executed. It was like watching a sophomoric comedy movie, right down to the sound effects. They were so wierd. Clown car honks and slide whistles, squeeks and wonks. Pretty sure I heard a fart sound. There were even fast motion scenes ie Benny Hill. I can't believe ION put this in a prime time slot. Don't waste your time. There is nothing good about this movie.

The first 5 minutes hurt my ears so bad that I couldn't stand any more of it. It sounded like a 7 year old's birthday party that got out of control. Too much talking over each other, too noisy and loud. Who thought this was a good idea? Wait, I know who. Both the script writer and director both cam from dysfunctional families with 20 children where none of the brothers and sisters were taught any manners or got along. As I as picking up the remote to kill this mess, my wife said "I don't like this movie." Verdict in: Rated a '1' for the Tylenol we needed.

Stupidest. Movie. Ever.

And the soundtrack, ugh... Was a disaster from the get go. Hoped it would get better but it never did. Very frantic and the music, sigh.

This is a hectic, madcap movie that has very little to do with Christmas. It's consistently loud, to the point of being irritating. I think the basic premise could have been turned into a decent movie, but that never came close to happening here. The only good thing was seeing scenes of Sydney, Australia.

Wow, there aren't even the words to describe how bad this movie is. Don't waste your time. A bad script and even worse acting are just the beginning of this film's troubles. What a way to ruin the holiday spirit. The money it took to make it should have been donated to charity instead.

Look, there is no real storyline in this movie. Its just a girfriend trying to find a guy in Australia. It plays like one really long scene. That's it. Just skip past the first 25 minutes, its totally awful and pointless set-up. But starting around minute 27, I thought the movie became an enjoyable watch because the characters were funny with their gag humor and I liked the all Australia setting/actor twist. I also turned the movie into a scavenger hunt game. Here are some suggestions to keep your interest: (1) Try to count how many times Justine Kacir slips back into her Australian accent; (2) Look up the New Zealand joke references; (3) Watch the scene background/settings for future vacation stop ideas; (4) consider how different Australian Christmas decorations/settings are from US ones; (5) See how many differences you can find between words Americans and Australians use to name something (like "thong") and (6) daydream about how fun it would be to re-create Ellie Parker's indirect flight around the world to get to Australia. Where would you go? There are others, but I don't want to spoil the movie.

What's wrong with these writers? It makes me ashamed to think these are the scripts that get made into movies. Don't waste your time. Every character was ridiculous.

I seen mixed reviews about this film but I still gave it a go. At the end of the day, it's a good christmas movie with a really talented cast. There were some funny parts that had me in tears and the ending was nice to. Totally worth the rent.

I COULD HARDLY HEAR WHAT THEY WERE SAYING OVER THAT GOD AWFUL MUSIC! AND THE ACTING? AND THE PLOT? LET'S JUST SAY I CAN'T GET THOSE MINUTES BACK IN MY LIFE!!!

This could be the worst movie I've ever seen. Every single minute of it is awful. I don't know how it has such a high rating. It doesn't have one redeeming quality.

Tried to watch the movie but the background music was so loud it was impossible to hear what was being said. Gave up after 10 minutes. I honestly don't know if the plot was good or not. Couldn't hear enough to really figure out what was going on. Waste of time.

Christmas or otherwise, this is the worst movie ever. It looks like it was filmed in my finished basement using my neighbors as actors. One gentleman has rotten bottom teeth, making it impossible to concentrate on the movie. Music so loud you can't hear the dialog. I changed the channel after a half hour. Terrible.

I only watched it because of John Jarrett who was in Mcleods Daughters which by the was very good. But I should say that the background music was so loud we could not hardly follow the story line. We only watched about half of it which was way too much and made the decision it was not worth continuing to watch since Me and the wifey didn't have a clue as to what was going on. Could have been much better.

Somewhere into this movie my mind was held captive by a vision. I was "cousin Vinny", standing in Court, while the voice of the judge, Fred Gwynne, was booming: "Mister Gambini, are you on drugs?". When I came back, I was still protesting that I have never used drugs. Yet, the producers and script writers of this movie must have been on some. Ellie and John, though quite messed up, are the only near-normal people in a world where all inhabitants behave like frantic morons or brain-damaged lunatics. It follows they are meant to be a couple. The profound silliness of this yarn in not devoid of kindness and candor, to the point that it becomes almost endearing. After all, unlike in so many pure-rubbish TV productions of the Holiday season, especially from Lifetime, in this one the farce was intentional.

I actually liked it, I wouldn't watch it a second time but I did like it. The soundtrack was nice and I loved the acting. Had some really funny scenes in it.

Enjoyed the story, the actors, even the dad jokes.

The "background" sounds (music, sound effects, volume, etc,) however, were horribly distracting. I felt like I was in a bar, the whole time.

Perhaps they can edit the "background" out and just put some Buble in its place.
