In the opening scene where James sits in his car, he unlocks the phone using the code 4999. The code spells out "Izzy", which was the nickname of David Fritzson's Grandfather.
During pre-production, countless visits and phone calls were made to cell phone stores to find a place to film. None were interested, except a local computer repair store located in Bel Air, Maryland, who allowed for filming to happen when the store was closed.
It took three days to film "Wireless", each day involved storing away the computer stores equipment, and replacing it all with cell phones, tablets, and various posters with the brand name "Skyline Wireless". Filming typically took place between the hours of 9 PM - 4 AM.
The story James tells about how he first met his wife was based on how David Fritzson's own parents met in Middle School. He also mentions he had a Bassett Hound named Casey, which is the first name of David Fritzson's favorite musicians; Casey Crescenzo.
The film was not directly based on a true story, but David Fritzson had worked for a major wireless carrier at one of its retail locations, and had run into situations similar to the one told in "Wireless".
