Alberto Martinez was set to play Golden Arm, even training with Malik Saldana. But after an injury to his leg, Saldana took on the role, and Martinez directed the film in a wheelchair. It became his first film where he didn't appear in front of the camera.
Mike McNulty, Felicia Greenfield and Sarah Rattle were already martial arts experts upon joining the film in addition to Malik Saldana.
The percussion for the film's main theme song was a modified version from the Cinema Shares theme, a motion picture distribution company prominent in the 1970s that released various kung fu and Japanese science fiction films to the United States.
All scenes featuring Alan Bendich were shot in one day. He was given the script that day and had a couple of hours to memorize his lines.
