A Sneeze, Detention, and Sissy Spacek

This was one of the best episodes of the first series of 'Young Sheldon' so far for me, as it really felt like we were watching exactly that - a young Sheldon Cooper.

There were lots of funny moments along the way, and whoever had the idea of casting Annie Potts as Sheldon's MeeMaw is a genius - she steals every scene here by a mile, though Zoe Perry gives her a run for her money. Not that Annie Potts hasn't been stealing scenes in things for most of her career.

For me in a spin-off you need the character you knew before to be good but there needs to be interesting new characters, and 'Young Sheldon' is doing well on that front so far.

Flu Endemic and Detention
claudio_carvalho5 July 2023
When Ms. MacElroy sneezes in class, Sheldon leaves the classroom without her permission and she gives a detention to him. When he leaves his detention, he is suspended. There is a flu endemic in Medford and Sheldon prepares a shelter for him.

"A Sneeze, Detention, and Sissy Spacek" is another funny episode of "Young Sheldon", with a hilarious situation. Sheldon's phobia with germs takes him to his first detention and suspension at school. His anti-germs protection, with plastic curtains and clothes peg, and astronaut clothes, is one of the funniest scenes of this show. My vote is eight.

Warning: Spoilers
I really like this show, but this is one of those episodes where I can't STAND how Sheldon gets away with everything... His mother chased him all around the garage? I'm sorry, but if it were me I would have went and grabbed some boxes and or bags and all those trains that he loves so much would have been wiped off into them. The plastic would have been torn down right away. And if possible water and power would have been shut off to that garage. He is not a five year, he is too old to be acting like that. I mean, in the next episode they are home alone for the first time. He gets away with way too much in this show...
