Where's Valkyria chronicles 5?
juliusnova21 February 2023
Valkyria Chronicles 4 is a stunning tactical RPG game that is easily one of the best games in its genre. This game has everything that makes a great game: immersive gameplay, a compelling story, beautiful graphics, and an outstanding soundtrack.

The gameplay is the star of the show in Valkyria Chronicles 4. The game is a turn-based strategy game that blends traditional strategy gameplay with action elements. You'll control a squad of soldiers and tanks as you navigate the battlefield, taking out enemy soldiers and completing objectives. The game features a variety of different classes, each with its own strengths and weaknesses, and you'll need to use them all to succeed. The gameplay is deep and rewarding, and the game is easy to pick up but difficult to master.

The story in Valkyria Chronicles 4 is another highlight. It follows the journey of Squad E, a group of soldiers fighting in the Second Europan War. The story is well-written and engaging, and the characters are all likable and relatable. The game does an excellent job of balancing the serious themes of war with moments of humor and levity, making for a well-rounded and enjoyable experience.

The graphics in Valkyria Chronicles 4 are simply stunning. The game uses a unique watercolor art style that looks absolutely gorgeous. The characters are well-designed and the environments are detailed and full of life. The game is a visual treat and looks great whether you're playing on a TV or a handheld device.

Finally, the soundtrack in Valkyria Chronicles 4 is one of the best I've heard in a video game. The music perfectly captures the mood and tone of the game, and the orchestral arrangements are simply beautiful. The voice acting is also top-notch, with each character having their own distinct voice and personality.

Overall, Valkyria Chronicles 4 is an exceptional game that I would highly recommend to anyone who loves tactical RPGs. It has great gameplay, a compelling story, beautiful graphics, and an outstanding soundtrack. It's a must-play for any fan of the genre. 10/10.

Load Of Nonsense
EuropeanQoheleth27 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Even for a game with a (slightly) fantasy setting (pretty much Europe in WWII) this game is absurd. You can protest all you want ''but it's fantasy! It's a videogame! Of course things don't make sense!'' Yes but it's heavily based on actual events in a real place and these things are not simply inaccurate; they're annoying. * Soldiers moving one by one. Them moving one at a time is silly, especially since the enemy can do interception fire; if you get within range of them you get shot at so get within range of even a few enemies or too close to one shocktrooper or Gatling gun and you're dead quick and if there's a mortar around they might keep blasting you so you can't get through. One soldier is essentially operating against the whole enemy army. Yes there is the command function but that can only be done once per turn and can only affect up to 3 soldiers out of a possible 10. * Sandbags seem to confer some sort of magical armour to soldiers; a soldier could be shot by a sniper rifle, attacked by a flamethrower, have a grenade thrown at them or even have a mortar explode on them and end up surviving if they're crouched behind a sandbag. The person's head is still exposed so being shot by a sniper rifle round and especially being set on fire at close range should kill them and someone surviving a direct hit from a mortar makes no sense; these things can destroy walls; what use is a sandbag against them? Surviving a direct hit from a grenade also doesn't make sense for the same reason. * Ducking. Before a soldier is about to be hit they might duck if above level 9 (yep, randomness, as if this mechanic wasn't bad enough). Why don't they duck since level 1? It's a basic thing to do. Worse yet a soldier can duck before being hit by assault rifle fire (Reisings etc.)? How? With how quick those weapons fire you'd have no hope of ducking in time. Not only that but after the first shot from a scout's or engineer's rifle doesn't hit why can't they correct their aim? They aren't automatic rifles; they don't shoot all that fast. As for shocktroopers yes their guns fire much faster but they could correct their aim after the first few miss rather than firing into the air where nobody is. * The death mechanic. When a soldier loses all of their hp they're dead; unless they're Federation in which case a comrade can go over to them and call for the medic who will then evacuate them but if an enemy soldier gets to them first they're dead. This makes no sense; in both cases they were shot or set on fire or blown up and have 0 hp. They're dead. It shouldn't make the slightest difference whether a friend or foe gets to a lifeless corpse. Even more bizarre you can somehow resurrect soldiers at the cenotaph after finishing the story. Not with magic or Jesus performing another Lazarus miracle but with points. An arbitrary number can somehow bring somebody back to life at a place that's for letting the dead rest in peace. * Not much has changed since the original VC. True they added command, too little of it and it should have been there since the original VC, and the grenadier class but apart from that the same problems remain.
