The Jedi and Sith characters were played by professional fencers who are used to fencing with steel. Because of this the "lightsabres"(prop LED swords, manufactured for the movie) unfortunately did not last long. After the first half an hour of heavy fighting one of the swords started blinking and both stopped working within 2 hours.
While creating the sound design there was something missing for the special sound of the sword, so the sound designer created his original solution. What you hear in the final cut is actually the sound from a cappuccino machine - the choking of hot water. Since the result was so unique and fit the scene perfectly, from that moment on the crew used a catchphrase: "This could use a bit of cappuccino."
Scenes of the droid serving a glass of water to the boy were shot using cooking tongs (a kitchen tool), which were subsequently removed and replaced with a droid arm in postproduction.
The parts of the space ship, that the other boy plays with in the sand, are in fact dismantled old vacuum cleaners.
The droid was voiced by the director Roman Gregoricka.
