Without a doubt, this is a great film. It successfully deviates from the "glorified history" films to a much more personal struggle. But did it live upto it's hype? Well, that's a big question mark. Although most of the departments were successful, it seems that the creators accidentally did some obvious mistakes. For instance, the dialogues were too artificial. Some of which were cringe inducing. There were some unneesesary fade outs and the start could have been different. It seems that the production was done in a hurry. And also it must be said that the last 30 minutes and the ending did a prominent part in overshadowing those mistakes. And lastly; Was I satisfied with the film? Partially. Should you watch this? Absolutely.

Despite the amazing cinematography, almost all the scenes feels like they are in a hurry to quickly tell you what happened and then move on. Kamal's voice jumps between his own and the one he's trying to imitate and many characters feels one dimensional IMO. But as a Sri Lankan born after a decade past this period, although I enjoyed every moment and learned the historic incidents, the way they are delivered definitely didn't create an 'emotional blast' inside my mind, which it should have. Frozen Fire would've been exceptional as a 'documentary', but for a two and half hour movie, it could've deliver more.

As we know 89 era had so many virulence from JVP side also but in this movie Director and writer didn't touch that side much, Whoever bone after 89 and watch this movie they will surly get only the good side of the JVP.

Without a doubt one of the Best Biographical Movies made in Sri Lankan Movie history. Acting, Directing, Music, cinematography & The Story was good. No Wonder It got nominated for Oscars 2019. Many people may find this movie irritating or misleading based on their political view. But for a Movie fan, This is Just a quality 2 & half hours of cinematography Well done. Hope to see this type of great movies in the fututre, where the director & the crew has shown great commitment & creativity rather than the boring history type movies that are made on the sole intention of earning money. Hope This film is the turning point! Not the best biographical movie ever, but for sri lankan standards these days, exceeds expectations big time.

The Frozen Fire has attracted everyone regardless of the age, ethnicity or the political party they're attached to. This isn't a film about JVP but it educates you on the movement. It's unbelievable how the whole audience is moved and almost takes part in the film. And we're fortunate that after many years Sri Lankan cinema has been successful in reaching a standard that it had never had before in the cinematic history of 70+ years. Excellent!!!

My parents and I thoroughly engoyed the Frozen fire when it showed in Calgary. The music was especially well done. It was very interesting to learn about the political history of Sri Lanka and I hope that more movies like this can be shared with the world.

The movie depicts the reformation of Peoples Liberation Front (JVP) after the first attempted toppling of government by the activists and how there democratic movement (Nominal) went from pro-election to revolutionary with the intervention of the Indian forces in suppressing the LTTE. The movie specifically addresses how the JVP were forced to choose the violent path. It is arguable and mostly true that the adversities done by the JVP on the government servants (Especially security forces) as well as ruling party (United National Party) has been addressed quite less than what really happened. This sugar coating on the JVP overshadows the violence by them. It might be due to the way the movie has been formed; which is highlighting the life of Rohana Wijeweera. The movie is a great source to understand the recent bloodshed history of Sri Lanka and how socialism tried to engulf the country.

As practical participant I see the truth again . good film . we love Rohana even without a movie . movie is inspired to pursue young generation to well planned revolution

We are not expecting a movie for wijeweera's private life and how many child he had!. And We are not expecting timeline movie.Timeline is helpful ,but the movie only have what wijeweera only does on that timeline and his wife! Good movie but somethings are mistaken for director or script writer.

This film is an eye opener for the current film industry in Sri Lanka. It excels in almost all aspects. It does not contain unnecessary songs and the historial incidents are very well accounted. A rounded character of the proganist is well created. The leading role actor is also good except some slight variations in the voice, which looks a bit artificial. The film rushes a bit in the end. In my point of view, it is a masterpiece that fills a void in the modern entertainment industry.

Good cinematography, but shameful attempt at whitewahing the crimes comitted by JVP. With Jabs at Current enemies of UNP

Better research about the main character and background. Good picture quality product. Acting also perfect. Best Biographical film. Love it.

Good film of life of Mr. Rohana Wijeweera. That's change your image of JVP. He died for deam he sawed.

These kind of movies are very rare here in Sri Lanka, and it is a must to be promoted in our film industry. Technically, this is a leap forth! That's why (the only reason) I love this movie. Lots of effort there. An excellent color palette. Great Sound designing. Great Music and such an outstanding and realistic perfomance! I had a lot of nostalgia as well as my family. Well done CinePro!

But when it comes to the story plot and roleplay, the script had made this very boring. (maybe, as this is a slow cinema composition)

I was looking forward to watching this movie. Rohana Wijeweera's rebellious character and Kamal Addararachchi's performance created great expectations for the film. However, after watching the movie, I had a great desire to find out about this person. After that, it was realized that the facts in Sevimedi's video are true

Wijeweera I heard was a learned man who knew how to attract/persuade especially the youth of that era.

Kamal Addararachchi seems to be doing great justice to his role. I am saying that by watching this, you can find out a few facts about one of the darkest aspects of Sri Lankan history.

This is a movie inspired by true events happened in 1980s. Art directors had made a reasonable attempt to recreate the history, yet here and there, you can see evidences of his job poorly done. Acting, particularly mediocre performance from the actor in the leading role, is a great shame to the movie. I almost felt like I was watching a poorly written, poorly directed and poorly acted Sri Lankan teledrama. However, the performances of the actress in the leading role needs some appreciation.

Those people were fight for the good future of the country. This movie you must watch.

The film is worth watching for every sri lankan since its the first such movie on this historical important matter . Kamal as Rohana gives a perfect performance and almost unrecognizable.

The movie was captivating and thought-provoking. The ending was shocking, especially to someone who knows nothing about Sri Lanka's history: the JVP and Rohana Wijeweera in particular. If you want to learn more about Sri Lanka's history, this movie is a good door opener. From personal research after watching the movie, I have learned that there is much more to the story than what is shown. This movie left me with a desire to know more about Sri Lanka. Yes, it was definitely worth watching.

Usually i dont watch sinhala movies but when when the trailer came out it give me some interest to watch it. Even the small details of the movie is true . Thank u for making this masterpiece . From the start untill the end it was perfect.
