Great main characters
jkptx21 June 2022
I loved all the main characters in the beginning and the love triangle story but as the story continues too many new characters pop up and then the main characters story becomes lost.

Love all the main characters got annoyed by the pop characters that get so much screen time and sometimes more then the main characters.

Such a disappointment the main characters and their screen time is lost!

I continue watching in hopes of more main characters comebacks.

Talking of how long was The Bald and the Beautiful?
yve-eljerdy15 June 2021
This series drags on forever, whenever something is solved they dig up problems from under the ground, just to make it last longer, I guess it is financially rewarding, can't blame them, but I couldn't keep on watching after all. The protagonist just cries, most of her life in the series and her performance relies on crying, poor thing lol I du no how much longer it will last, but for me it is more than I can take.

Actors are not fish!
lukaubu28 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I don't want to spoil the series so I will go for analogy. I will start with the 4th season and go backwards.

I am sure everyone watched finding Nemo. Imagine watching entire movie with excitement how fish family will be back together and after hours of watching they finally come to Sydney where they find out, their little Nemo finished on a dish list. Of course the sea is big and soon we find a new fish and let's say we need some time to get used to the new fish. What happens after we get used to it, BAM! Another fried fish. However, it's just a fish, we get 20 new so we can kill them later on. And this has unfortunatelly been going on and going on. It could probably be the winner of how fast main actors were removed from the plot one by one. I really don't like too unrealistic series where only good is presented but this is the other way extreme. I will say the acting is good and the plot is quite interesting but a big - is that almost 1/3th of time there are funerals or grief. 4 out of 5 main protagonists dead is almost worse than an average Saw horror movie outcome.

Awful storyline
mirvahidshafiee17 March 2021
The story line is awful, the writer must have considered that the viewers iq is at least 80. No reasonable reactions is considered for the characters and the things happened.

romance and more
Kirpianuscus9 February 2020
It is very delicate to say why a Turkish romantic serie is different by other. In this case, a murder, a love story far by homeland and the beautiful performance of Hilal Altinbilek but especialy, Vahide Percin acting are, like the influence of Biblical story, are good motives for see it. Romance, drama and dark secrets as basic ingredients and as good pillars of story.

Hero dies at end!!
redeem_er27 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
After watching 78 episodes main characters die for no good reason. Season 3 scenario is bad writing as if the writers and those responsible for the show are doing episodes just to make commercials on tv and gain money. The show is supposed to be wrapped up by season 2.

Too many flaws in season 3 and 4
afheyran30 April 2022
I give seasons 1 and 2, 7 ratings but seasons 3 and 4 have many flaws that bring the ratings down. The dramatic twists are good most of the time but sometimes there are too many of them. The B- stories i.e., the relationships between the servants and field workers worked perfectly in seasons 1 and 2 but got boring along the way (seasons 3 and 4) Good performances and good character building in general.

The hospitalizations are too repetitive and cliché. Everyone who gets severely injured gets a cardiovascular stop and they get CPR etc. And come back again. Everything is predictable even the dialogs.

Bad face job along the way especially for Hilal, which is sad because her natural face looked more beautiful in the first season. She starts showing her feelings through her lips later on, which look fake. Her performance was much better in seasons 1 and 2.

It is good that Ibrahim Celikkol changes his acting style along the way and removes his fake smile from his face, and acts more seriously. The constant smile on his face in the first couple of episodes doesn't make sense at all.

There is a side-by-side refrigerator in the kitchen that actually came out in the 90s but they do their laundry in a very old fashion way. The washing machines came out in 1760 and were modernized in 1908. They were further developed in the 70s. I wonder why they wash their clothes the way they do in this TV show but use a side-by-side fridge in their kitchen.

One loses the tract of time in 'Bir Zamanlar Cukurova'. The dialogues show a lot of time has passed by but the babies don't grow up accordingly. In season 4 they celebrate Leyla and Karam Ali's 3-year-old birthday. From the beginning until Adnan's age in season four shows that 4-6 years have passed which is not as long to me as they express it in season 4.

Many crimes i.e., Ali Rahman's, remain unpunished. The relationship between Betul and Abdoulkadir does not make sense. I can't get it. Why does Zoleyha forgive Hakan? Maybe circumstances and things were different in the 70s? Now societies and legislation do not accept violence against women. To Zoleyka it is okay Hakan comes to her hotel room in Izmir in the middle of the night, wearing masks, and scares her to death. In conclusion, there are too many things that don't make sense to me in this show.

Very good but....
izvorualb1 January 2022
I could not wait for another episode! Now at number 119 I don't think I'm going to continue. The story is going in circles and became unnecessarily complicated. Leading characters disappeared struck suddenly by death! New one were introduced changing the whole atmosphere, too bad. Why not closing it, why continuing? I don't think I want to continue watching a dumb Zuleyha and the disappearing of Gulten and Sanye! Why Turkish actors are not bound to stricter rules when they sign up a contract?

Was Too Repetitive
joslinekh18 March 2021
So the first episodes of this TV show are probably the best , everything was perfect , i would say at about episode 20 the show began to lose its taste and interest , the events didn't change but it was getting too repetitive , sometimes just to give the viewers the feeling that something at least was happening , they would throw unnecessary screaming scenes even though they led to nothing . At one point i realized that the show freezed in one place , the story wasn't advancing , they would just fill the time with repetitive events and scenes . That was the rest of season 1 until its end where Yilmaz finally learned something important . Season 2 Began and new events finally happened , but again , every event takes up to 4 episodes . Too much stretching and filler scenes , that was the summary of season 2 . Season 3 though , is very disastrous , it begins with same unnecessary stretched scenes , until so a very important person dies , and from episode 71 , the series officially lost its intrigue and logique , the entire story changed and now the story is going nowhere ...And worst of all , they are making a 4th season . Sooo ... You can watch it , but its going to be a long journey full of misfortune , crying , screaming , and misery .

Great story- great acting
mybillsplus13 April 2021
I love that it has gone on for almost 3 yrs without being boring. I love how Zuleyha was transformed and how she always fought for her right. I was saddened with Yilmaz and their love gone, but I was happy that she decided to be happy again. Gaffur gets on my last nerve which means he is doing a good job. I do hope that they end it soon as it has covered a lot and it could end happily. I am not happy that Sermin doesnt get hers, but she is a comic relief.

A project show...
unibarisbeyduz16 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This show is specifically designed to demise the Turkish family culture and relationships. The protagonist falls in love with a different guy's lover he tries to separate them. Then they get back together a few times. In the end, the other guy dies but before he dies, he entrusts his girlfriend to her husband. The main female character has a child from his lover and from her husband looking after them at the same time. WTF... The protagonist also brings his dad's mistress to his home treating her as his passed mother. Than He cheats on his stolen wife... Some other guy also brings his girlfriend from Germany only to make her seduce the protagonist so he can blackmail him against his wife. Hated every moment of it. Everybody goes trough heart attack once in 3 episodes to make it dramatic. I bet the actors are saying wtf am I playing once in a while. Make up artist should change. They don't walk with shoes in the house in Turkey. Costumes doesn't represent the time and settings of Turkey.

Lost its way!
patherwill7 October 2022
Don't usually watch these Novellas at all but caught one episode around number 40 and enjoyed it so decided to give it a run. A few of the more likeable or main actors started to die, get murdered or whatever and soon others followed in the strangest and most unbelievable circumstances. Different events were introduced but were in the main just too impossible to believe and caused the characters to do things and make decisions that were simply too illogical to believe and totally contrary to any common-sense. Added to this was the fact that in Spain where I watched it the programme had a START TIME of 17.45pm but in fact started at 18.15 because it was PRECEDED by 30 minutes of ADVERTS and it had a FINISH TIME OF 1900 but ended at 18.50pm to allow 10 minutes of ADVERTS to be allowed to PRECEDE the programme following. THIS also allowed the Spanish TV Channel Antena 3 to extend the series by months so I long ago stopped watching it because Spanish TV may be free on some Channels but the quality of programmes are the worst imaginable. Spanish viewers in the main like and prefer to watch series like La Voz, Salveme and any reality shows that don't require them to think!

Different from other Turkish serials
abolfazlkhaleqi20 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It was so good that Demir Yaman was also in the series. When Demir Yaman died, the series became unattractive. The score and the good story were ruined due to the stubbornness and childish behavior of Zuleykha and Sahnia. Also, the mistake of the director and the writer.

Peace be upon #Demir_Yaman.

It was the best show on television in the last three years, as far as I'm concerned.
BlackJack_B27 August 2022
During the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, we both became hooked on this great television soap opera. We watched it on MTV Lebanon where it was dubbed in Arabic. In a time where American T. V. is at an all-time low when it comes to entertaining programming, BZC harkened back to the 1970s and 1980s when you had great dramatic shows such as Dallas and Dynasty.

The story about two families (the Yaman and the Fekeli clans) and their twists and turns was dynamite the first two seasons and a half. This was a show I didn't want to miss as it aired daily. Sadly, once they began killing off the major characters it started to lose its mojo. The 4th and last season was about these crime bosses involved with Julia and crazy Batul and her mother trying to destroy what was left of the Yaman family and it wasn't as good.

Regardless, this was a wonderful show while it lasted and provided us entertainment during the lockdown and beyond. Great characters that you cared about, the beautiful setting of Southern Turkey and some comedy made this a pleasure to watch.

I wish my Grandmother could have seen this show. The character of Hammine reminded me her.

Good scripts for recreating the historical drama and love story of 70 years (quite reminiscent of a western)
Ar-1471712 September 2022
For the 4th season, I can say that the fresh addition of Ibrahim Çelikkol (Hakan) was a hit, which raised the rating of the series, as well as the performance of Hilal Altinbilek (Zuleyha)!

The couple had a good harmony! The sets, the costumes were exactly in line with that era! Although in some places the action was watered down, even the feeling of fragmentation was created, as if different stories were being followed between the characters and there was no collaboration between them, it still left a good impression! Especially in the last 10 episodes of the season, there were some impressive moments, the wedding of Zuleyha and Hakan, the fight against discrimination in women's work, and the specialty of Ibrahim (Hakan) when he sacrifices himself for the woman he loves! Because of the exceptional feeling of elegance, luxury and level created by the actors, especially by Ibrahim Çelikkol I give one more unit instead of 8, (9) Overall good scripts for recreating the historical drama and love story of 70 years (quite reminiscent of a western) and good performance by the actors.
