- Kate Gleason is a renowned matchmaker based in New York City. Prince Sebastian of Voldavia is a carefree playboy, and his father, King Edward, is tired of waiting for him to settle down. Edward hires Kate to find Sebastian a wife in time for a national celebration, which is a few weeks away. At first, Sebastian is unhappy with this arrangement and refuses to cooperate with Kate. The two do not get along at all. Eventually, however, Sebastian relents. He agrees to open up to Kate so that she can get an idea of what his personality is like, which will help her find a good match among the eligible royal women in Europe. As Kate and Sebastian spend more time together, she sees that beneath his cold exterior is a good person who does charity work out of the public eye, and they start growing fond of each other. Kate succeeds in finding a match for Sebastian before the deadline. Only afterwards does she realize, painfully, that she has fallen in love with Sebastian herself.—Patrick Lin
