These abuses are largely the status quo; even in other practices.

Framing, badgering, pigeonholing, confirmation bias, railroading; is largely the status quo; not just by police, prosecutors and courts; but also with politics, church, schools, homeowners associations and many other powermad abusive authorities.

Interrogators ask questions but often don't give a chance for an honest answer. Instead they interrupt and force agendas and falsify memories.

It's not just the suspect(s) that are pigeonholed and given false memories; it's also supposed witnesses and supposed victims. Sometimes because of this type of bullying; supposedly witnesses and supposed victims are sometimes bullied and coached into giving false statements and/or having false memories.

Exonerating evidence is often obfuscated, not permitted and/or destroyed.

During the Salem witch hunt, almost everybody confessed and many falsely implicated others.

Inquisitions....

Japan has a 99% confession rate. EU countries and Australia have a much higher confession rate than the US. In fact one can cherry pick for a given bunch of anecdotes but in fact thanks to the US Bill of Rights, especially the fourth and Fifth Amendment, which are very strong like the First and Second are as well, the US has less abuse of interrogation than the vast majority of developed democracies. If the ACLU were set loose on Japan, France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Australia applying US law and practices, it would tear up and excluded 90% of confessions. Highlighting problems, and the rare abuse of rights is worthy effort. Implying they are the rule is disinformation and falsehood.
