The Hulu series adaptation of Rebecca Godfrey’s book “Under the Bridge” has added three series regulars to its cast, Variety has learned exclusively.
Chloe Guidry, Izzy G, and Ezra Faroque Khan will all star in the series alongside previously announced lead Riley Keough, who will play Godfrey.
Per the official logline, the series is “about the 1997 true story of fourteen-year-old Reena Virk who went to join friends at a party and never returned home. Godfrey takes us into the hidden world of the seven teenage girls and a boy accused of the savage murder, revealing startling truths about the unlikely killer.”
Guidry will star as Josephine Bell, described as “a striking ice-queen with a razor-sharp tongue. As a ward of the state, she’s the girl in charge at Seven Oaks Youth Home. She is leader of the Cmc and dreams of growing up to be a hitman for New York mobster John Gotti.

Season 6 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” will premiere on Paramount Plus on June 24, the streamer announced on Wednesday, along with the official announcement of the season’s cast of competing queens.
Last year, ViacomCBS initially announced that Season 5 of “All Stars” would premiere on the company’s subscriber-based pay cable network Showtime, but then reversed its decision three months later, putting the season back on VH1 in the wake of the pandemic — and a wave of criticism by fans frustrated at having to pay for Showtime to see the series. This year, however, ViacomCBS didn’t flinch; the company is sticking to its previously announced plans to premiere “All Stars” on the subscriber-based Paramount Plus, part of a larger strategy to double down on reality offerings on the streamer.

Netflix has produced many hit TV shows over the past seven years, ever since they started pumping out their own original programming. However, the streaming service has developed a reputation for not letting its series go on for too long. Fans know to be wary of getting attached to their favorite new Netflix shows as they could be unceremoniously cancelled after one or two seasons.
Earlier today, for instance, Hilary Swank vehicle Away was given the chop by the company after just a single outing. This makes it the 56th original series that Netflix has cancelled. That number only includes shows that were original to the platform and produced in-house, so it doesn’t count pick-ups like Lucifer, for example. Those series luckily enough to end on the creators’ own terms, such as House of Cards, are likewise not included. Shows that were axed by Netflix before being picked up elsewhere,...

Now that first-round Emmy voting is completed, who will be nominated for the season’s best song? RuPaul? Hailee Steinfeld? Darren Criss? Kristin Chenoweth?
That’s right, all four actors are potential nominees in Emmy’s song competition, officially known as Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics … as are such musical personalities as the Weeknd, Sara Bareilles, Brad Paisley and Nick Jonas — along with about 200 other songwriters.
If you’re an Emmy voter in the music branch, how do you decide what song to vote for? Do you pick something you already know and like, or do you investigate some, or all, of the many tunes entered?
There are seven music categories, which encompass more than 300 separate programs, a daunting task for even the most diligent voter. The vast number of shows entered is overwhelming, and no one — especially working professionals, which constitute the bulk of the estimated 600 composers, songwriters and...

John Mulaney and Daniel Craig will both be back to host “Saturday Night Live,” for their third and second times, respectively.
NBC announced Thursday that stand-up comedian and former “SNL” writer Mulaney is set to host on Feb. 29. The show will feature musical guest David Byrne, who currently appears in Broadway’s “David Byrne’s American Utopia.” In December, Netflix released Mulaney’s new variety special “John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch Bunch” on the streaming platform.
Craig will grace the stage in Studio 8H on March 7, just a little more than a month before he reprises the role of James Bond in “No Time to Die,” which hits theaters on April 10. Returning for his third appearance as musical guest that week is The Weeknd.
In a tongue-in-cheek Instagram post, Mulaney posted a signed letter from Lorne Michaels, explaining to fans that the stand-up comedian had to reschedule his Feb. 28 show...

This series follows a down on his kick drag performer Robert who performs as Ruby Red (played by Ru Paul Charles) as he somehow ends up with a ten-year-old stowaway as he tours America trying to rebuild his life.

RuPaul‘s new Netflix series Aj and the Queen isn’t just an unlikely buddy comedy. It’s an unlikely everything comedy.
The premiere introduces Ru as Ruby Red, a legendary Manhattan drag queen who announces that she’s leaving the island to open her own drag club in (wait for it) Queens called (wait for it again) Queens in Queens. Even better, she’s going into business with her boyfriend of seven months, the Sonny to her Cher… or so she thinks.

Bright red wigs, red sequin gowns, and red stacked platform heels filled up the red carpet at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, Calif. Thursday night as the “Aj and the Queen” premiere kicked off and drag queens and more attendees glitzed up the scene and gathered to celebrate RuPaul’s new Netflix series.
Red was the theme of the night, the color which guests were asked to wear in honor of RuPaul’s character Ruby Red, the star of the show. “I really just went for a ‘you ate Jessica Rabbit and boiled the bunny,”’ David “Eureka” Huggard said before strutting inside the event decked out head to toe in a red wig and red dress. “I’m in a black tank top honey. RuPaul is one of the single most impactful TV stars of the decade just concluded, thanks to a funny sort of double performance. As the host and presiding judge on “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” the performer is “himself” in a sort of emcee drag of tailored suits and black-framed specs before emerging, each episode, as the character “RuPaul,” defined by big wigs and high dudgeon. It’s a bombshell of charisma that’s so well-deployed it looks quite a lot like art, playing off of RuPaul’s long history in the public eye and the conventions of unscripted TV to create an elaborate pantomime that, moment-to-moment, feels realer than vérité.
RuPaul has been so adept at defining the emotional texture of the series — easily toggling from humane interaction with aspirant drag queens to superhuman ringleader of runway chaos — that it’s easy to see why he’d seem like a fit for a scripted series.

When RuPaul and Michael Patrick King first began working together, they were pleasantly surprised to find they both had strong feelings for Preston Sturges’ 1941 feature film “Sullivan’s Travels” — so much so that it became an influence on their Netflix dramedy “Aj and the Queen” for both character and tone.
“Everybody thinks that to make a real impact in this world it has to be this [Martin] Scorsese dark, Oliver Stone, ‘This is an important film!'” RuPaul tells Variety. But, “the premise of ‘Sullivan’s Travels’ is laughter is the biggest spell you can cast; it has the widest net and the biggest impact. And understanding that — getting to that place — is such an evolved, zen destination.”
In the film, a privileged film director pretends to be homeless and travels the country, learning some harsh truths about the state of the world. The story is set during the Great Depression, King points out,...

Ian Somerhalder wants you all to know that there are absolutely no sexy vampires in his new Netflix show, “V Wars.” None.
But he understands why people might think there would be, and why one might ask why he’s chosen to star in yet another vampire-themed series.
