A new, darker era is just around the corner for Bond, James Bond. Dynamite Entertainment has announced that a brand new "James Bond" comic book series is set to hit shelves early next year, with none other than Garth Ennis writing the upcoming adventures for 007. Ennis, known for his work on "The Boys" and "Preacher," promises to bring a darker edge to the character more closely associated with author Ian Fleming's literary creation.
"When I took a look at the Bond of the Fleming novels, as opposed to the larger-than-life figure from the movies, I saw a great deal more potential — a much darker character in a more interesting world," Ennis said in a press release. 2023 marks the 70th anniversary of Bond, with the character first appearing in Fleming's "Casino Royale" in 1953. This announcement was made as part of the celebration. As for what Ennis has in store for Bond?...

Nicolas Cage’s direct-to-video days may be over — we’ve come a long way from the “Kill Chain,” “Primal,” “Grand Isle” triple-header of 2019 — but the guy is simply too eager and too curious to just sit by the phone and wait for someone to call him with a script as strong and/or well-tailored to him as “Mandy,” “Pig,” or “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.”
While Cage’s latest creative renaissance is hopefully still just getting started, his current upswing was always going to be pockmarked by its fair share of forgettably solid genre films. We’re talking respectable programmers with compromised scripts, cool supporting casts, and just enough credibility to stride onto Redbox with their heads held high. The kind of movie whose director tried to get it made for more than a decade before deciding that driving a roadworthy Nicolas Cage vehicle would be preferable to leaving...

Nicolas Cage instinctively knew how to play Rob, the melancholic truffle forager at the center of “Pig.” The indie film explores Rob’s connection to his pet pig and his tortured relationship with his past celebrity as a renowned chef. Cage, one of the top action stars of the late 1990s and early aughts, related to Rob’s complicated feelings about fame and shared a desire to live off the grid.
“I do feel that I’ve gone into my own wilderness and that I’ve left the small town that is Hollywood,” Cage says. “I don’t know exactly why Rob left his stardom. It’s never fully explained, and I like that about the movie. But as for me, I don’t know if I’d want to go back. I don’t know if I’d want to go and make another Disney movie. It would be terrifying.

Who’s the hardest working actor in Hollywood? That’s a question of quantity over quality, so if you really think about it, the answer should be easy: Nicolas Cage.
A new study covers the last five years of various actors’ careers and includes not only starring roles, but cameos, producing and directing credits, too. When it comes to Cage though, it’s all in the acting category, as he’s been in 27 films over the past five years. Unfortunately, many have come via VOD. But of course, they still count.
The actor, who was once a huge star, has been relegated to B-movie status in recent times with starring roles in such efforts as The Humanity Bureau, Kill Chain and the upcoming Jiu Jitsu. However, he has appeared in a couple of smaller genre pics that were well-received, too, like Mandy and Color Out of Space. He’s reportedly...

"Hackers are a wonderful resource." HBO has unveiled the official trailer for a documentary titled Kill Chain: The Cyber War on America's Elections, which is as frightening as it sounds. This 91-minute feature documentary will be debuting streaming on HBO later this month. From directors Simon Ardizzone, Russell Michaels and Sarah Teale, the team behind HBO's documentary Hacking Democracy, Kill Chain again follows Finnish hacker and cyber security expert Harri Hursti as he travels across the U.S. and around the world to show how our election systems remain entirely unprotected, with very little accountability or transparency. Hursti's eye-opening journey is supplemented by candid interviews with key figures in the election security community, as well as cyber experts and U.S. senators from both parties who are fighting to secure the integrity of the vote before November 2020. Let's hope this film actually makes a difference and forces real change, because...

The vulnerabilities of the United States’ election system are highlighted in the unnerving new trailer for the documentary, Kill Chain: The Cyber War on America’s Elections, debuting March 26th on HBO.
The clip starts by taking on one of the major misconceptions about American voting machines — that concerns about hacking are unwarranted because voting machines don’t connect to the internet. In fact, many machines do connect to the internet — very easily — and hacking them is really just one of several ways outside actors can tamper with the election process,...

CBS has ordered action pilot The International, starring Dolph Lundgren and produced by Sylvester Stallone.
Dolph Lundgren has been putting in a lot of work with onscreen Rocky IV rival Sylvester Stallone ever since their reunion in 2010’s The Expendables, which yielded sequels and substantially improved opportunities. Indeed, this imminently-ending decade has seen a proper comeback for the ‘80s action icon; a comeback that will shift to the small screen as the star of a TV project, with Stallone involved.
The International is the newly-revealed title of said TV project, which – in the latest development – has procured an order by CBS. The move is the culmination of some solicitation after the hourlong action pilot, with Lundgren set as its star, was shopped around back in August by Tony Krantz’s Flame Ventures, reported Deadline.

Half-way through shooting Seth Larney’s 2067 in Adelaide, Ryan Kwanten is convinced the sci-fi mystery thriller will have a lasting impact on moviegoers.
“There is something behind Seth’s vision which makes this feel like it’s more than a movie,” says the actor, whose extensive credits include HBO’s True Blood, Ivan Sen’s Mystery Road, Fox’s comedy New Girl and Peter Templeman’s Not Suitable for Children.
“It has a deeper consciousness and is one of those projects that I know will stay with me for a long time. It will play with people’s snap judgments: it’s not your classic case of good versus evil. There really isn’t a bad person in this movie. Everyone has intentions which they think are honourable.”
