a poem
Kirpianuscus15 September 2022
A poem of love. Delicate, intense, seductive, bitter. In a vilage, a box match between two teens. A first round and the refuse to fight of one of boys. And the prepaires of parents for revange.

From this, the story itself, served by Haendel music, by a small show, by sexual encounter , by the fragility of one of them and the pragmatism of the other.

Familiar cinematic influences and the raft- box ring as a drop from Andrei Tarkovsky.

A great short film for touch of a sort of Rococco. Or only an inspired reflection of love at the teen age, in a fascinating , so fragile mix of feelings, emotions, frond.

I saw it as a profound inspired poem. First for the acting of young lead actors. Second, for cinematography. Short, just seductive , in profound sense.

Whimsical little love story

Warning: Spoilers
This film was shown at the Kashish Queer Film Festival in Mumbai, along with another lovely film from The Netherlands called Something About Alex. Both are excellent films, in rural settings, but at the same time they are very different. Dante vs Mohammed Ali is a whimsical story of two teenagers who are opponents in the boxing ring but are actually in love. Unlikely, but very sweet. The two attractive young actors do full justice to their roles. The ending, where they go into clinch in the boxing ring is very well done!
