The Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office has declined to move forward on an assault charge filed by Tom Arnold after an altercation with mega-producer Mark Burnett during a pre-Emmy Awards party last month. Deadline confirmed that the Attorney’s Office cited insufficient evidence in declining the case.
Arnold filed a police report September 17, the day after he and Burnett’s confrontation at the “Evening Before” party in Century City benefiting the Motion Picture Television Fund. Arnold, host of the Viceland series The Hunt For The Trump Tapes, tweeted that Burnett, chairman of MGM Worldwide Television, “just went apesh*t & choked me at this huge Emmy party.”
Sources said Arnold was behind Burnett at the party and seemed to be approaching him before the encounter, which lasted about 30 seconds according to eyewitnesses.

2:00 Pm Pt -- Tom Arnold just released a statement on Twitter, saying, "I intend to proceed with a claim against Mark Burnett for assault and battery. There were several witnesses who corroborated what he did to me that evening. The Police Department informed me that witnesses were reluctant to come forward against Mark Burnett because he is a powerful man, but that won't stop me from making sure that Mr. Burnett is held accountable for his conduct.

Exclusive: Tom Arnold hasn’t given up his quest to uncover incriminating evidence against Donald Trump, but his Viceland series The Hunt for the Trump Tapes With Tom Arnold is over. A source said it was only ever intended as an eight-episode series.
But Arnold isn’t done. “I am not quitting until I get all the tapes or Trump resigns, which ever happens first,” he told Deadline. “Every day both things get closer to happening.”

Tom Arnold’s “The Hunt for the Trump Tapes” aired an episode Tuesday dedicated to a Trump “Elevator Tape” — even though there’s no proof such a tape exists.
Arnold, who cheerfully admits he has no credibility, told us on the “Shoot This Now” podcast that he’s turned over what he’s learned about the reputed tape to a “real journalist.” You can listen to it on Apple or right here.
There’s just one problem with Arnold telling a real journalist what he knows: As you’ll hear on our podcast, he’s very cagey about what, if anything, he conclusively knows.
And “The Hunt for the Trump Tapes” ended its season Tuesday night without revealing any Trump tapes.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday.

Tom Arnold, host of Viceland’s “The Hunt for the Trump Tapes,” says he knows exactly what’s contained on lost “Apprentice” tapes from Donald Trump’s years on the show — even though he can’t get his hands on them.
Arnold said he has friends who worked on the NBC reality show for all 15 seasons of its run — and that they recorded now-missing footage of Trump sexually harassing employees and using the N-word.
“He’s incompetent. He doesn’t know what’s going on. He’s racist, he says the N-word, he says, ‘You’re f—able’ right into camera, to the camera operators,” Arnold tells TheWrap in the video above. “They have to pull him out. The producers have a producers’ meeting [and tell him] ‘Whoa, you can’t sexually harass the women here.'”

Tom Arnold, Roseanne Barr's ex-husband and a former actor and executive producer on Roseanne, just learned the rumored fate of Barr's iconic character Roseanne Conner while on live TV. Arnold stopped by Bravo's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen to promote his new series The Hunt for the Trump Tapes and Cohen asked Arnold his opinion on what Barr said is going to happen to her character on the Roseanne spinoff The Conners. A brief backstory: Roseanne was canceled following Barr's controversial and racist tweets aimed at former Barack Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett. This was after ABC ordered a second season of the revived series. The network made a deal with Barr for a spinoff, The Conners, but she would...

Tom Arnold pulls no punches when it comes to how he feels about Donald Trump.
“He’s the worst,” he tells Variety simply. “He is the worst person ever, but he’s always been like that.”
It’s that latter assessment that’s fueling Arnold’s single-minded campaign to dig up damning, uncontroversial evidence of Trump’s many alleged foibles — racism, misogyny, double-dealing, business incompetence — that he believes must exist in the many thousands of hours of unedited pre-presidency “Celebrity Apprentice” video, film and audio recordings, a mission he’s documenting on his new Viceland series “The Hunt for the Trump Tapes.”
“The Celebrity Apprentice” executive producer Mark Burnett and his studio MGM Television have stated that they are contractually forbidden from releasing any tapes; Trump has tweeted that, per Burnett, no tapes of him using racist language exist. Former contestant and magician Penn Jillette, who is interviewed on “The Hunt for the Trump Tapes,...

Mark Burnett and his wife Roma Downey won’t be in attendance at Monday night’s Emmy awards — but it’s not because of a reported scuffle between Burnett and Tom Arnold at an Emmys party on Sunday night.

The NBC singing competition “The Voice,” which counts Burnett as an executive producer, was nominated for multiple Emmys this year, including Outstanding Reality Competition Program.

Say this for “The Hunt for the Trump Tapes,” Tom Arnold’s new half-hour series in which the actor undertakes a largely farcical hunt for incriminating material about the president — it’s a show of its moment. The series sits at the intersection of two trends: The outlandishness of the ongoing political scene allowing just about anything to seem believable, and the tendency of this era to resurrect just about any pop-cultural figure who’d seemed better left in a previous era.
But being well-positioned to document and to succeed in an era of crass, noisy perniciousness — an era in which vastly more heat than light is generated by whatever’s left of a national discourse — is hardly a compliment, unless it’s bolstered by the sort of vision and artfulness this show lacks. Arnold’s show is an unpleasant wade through widely-known and speculated-about Trump ephemera, adding little in...
