If they turn this into a full feature film, I'd probably watch

Here we have the music video for the song "Long Way Back Home" by Lucero. You can see this from the title. At slightly over 7.5 minutes, it is a fairly long one and this is from 2018, so neither too new or old. It mostly attracted attention because the star in the middle of it all is Oscar-nominated actor Michael Shannon. Here he shows us that he can also portray badass pretty nicely, not only evil, even if there is always something sinister to him. Or I should say to his characters. It is not really clear who or what he is, just a mysterious stranger who is asked inside by another character early on. This is the introduction sort of. As the film goes on, we find out that he is on some revenge path in this little movie. I felt it was more of a movie than a music video as there are long sequences without music on several occasions. At the start already, there is no music for 2.5 minutes and that is a lot for any film under ten minutes. There are other familiar faces in here, so the cast is definitely pretty spectacular. Hedlund would be one of those. And the director is Jeff Nichols, also not too usual for a music video. He worked with Shannon before obviously and I hope they will reunite for future projects. Seems like a fruitful combo. Not the best way to put it, but you know what I mean. I enjoyed it overall. Of course, I am more than just slightly biased here as I like Shannon. A lot even, but yeah, he plays an interesting character for sure and like I said, if this somehow gets picked up for a full feature film, then count me. Until then, Nichols can also decide what he does with the ending that is still open in this little film. We don't find out if he finishes his path of revenge with the gun in his hand or if mercy shall reign surpreme. I say he finishes. Okay, that's all then. Everybody who likes stuff like Justified and Shannon of course can check this one out. The tune is also pretty smooth. Country and rock is always a win for me, even if the tune is a bit on the shallow side maybe, but nonetheless given all the circumstances I should probably be surprised that I am giving it "only" six stars out of ten. But there is no hesitation from me in giving it a positive recommendation. It's on Youtube uploaded by Lucero themselves. See it.
