Lower Deck's "Chain of Command"
WKYanks18 September 2020
I enjoyed this one as well. I definitely got the "Chain of Command" vibe early on. The episode made me realize just how long Mariner has been an officer. Her best bud is now a Captain! I'm even more interested in learning more about her past. More nutty Star Trek fun I've come to very much look forward to in this series.

Superfunny but set a very bad example

Mariner - an ensign - is appointed XO! Recipe for mayhem and hilarity! But it was bizarre (not "funny ha ha", just weird) that none of the more senior officers objected to her promotion being made contrary to centuries of universal military protoca. Not to mention it being a personal and professional insult to those officers. Could the writers not have given some sort of (far-fetched) reason?

Two months after this episode aired Star Trek: Discovery S03E12 went ahead and did the same thing. But where it is weird in a cartoon spoof, it was a collosal f-up in the drama/adventure.

What lesson can we draw from this?

Star Trek: Lower Decks, keep in mind you are the best of the current Star Trek franchises. Just because you're a cartoon, and a spoof, doesn't mean you can blithly igore centuries of universal military protocol. You need to set a good example. More naive and impressionable Star Trek shows look up to you. :)

The best episode. It's very serious most of the time. It's 25 minutes long. Its great. A must watch. I still hate the first three episodes of this show.

I didn't liked 1-6 episodes but i really enjoyed this one ! Especialy loved that particular one of the worst epsiode of ST: Voyager reference but it's also a problem because if you arent so famialar with other older ST you would not understand many of references !

Touch the garlic production

I'm really enjoying this show so far, and this was probably the best episode yet. I honestly don't understand the bad reviews. Have people forgotten how to have fun? Now, this show isn't a masterpiece by any means, but in no way does it deserve a one out of ten. I have a strong feeling that the people who are giving it one star dropped it after the first episode (which was pretty meh in my opinion), because after seeing this episode, I'm confident in saying that this show is genuinely good. If this episode only has a 7.5, I can't wait to see how good the season finale is since it has an 8.7! So excited to see where this is going.

Who wrote this episode? I can tell you for sure they did not write the episode afterwards...This episode was amazing, and funny, worthy of both star trek and cartoons.

Much Ado About Boimler
Prismark1012 August 2021
I still find Lower Decks to be too disjointed.

I liked that Boimler ended up being with freaks on a shady Division 14 ship after a transporter accident.

Even then Boimler wants to grass on his fellow afflicted Starfleet crew members when they talk about a mutiny.

Freaks seem to be the centerpoint of this episode. Tendi creates a genetically engineered dog that seems to be like no ordinary dog.

However the main plot concerning Mariner seems to have been done previously even though this is only the seventh episode.

Mariner meets an old Academy friend who is now a captain. They go on an away mission but Mariner is still goofing around. Once trouble starts Mariner once again steps up.
