Pretty much it is. According to Prashast Singh:
"When I was thinking about Conjectural and how similar its theme was in relation to Bhaiyyajaan and Taapmaan, I realized that it's actually a trilogy which I ended up making unknowingly. All three films are action dramas and center on the struggles of an independent filmmaker. That way, I guess that viewing them as a trilogy, even though the films and their characters are not connected in any way, can actually justify their purpose even more. I just have to think of a crisp title for the trilogy pack when I prepare a DVD edition."
