This pays homage to some of the silly sixties adventures I grew up with. It so obviously doesn't take itself seriously.

Just Murdered

Going by the first episode; Ms Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries owes more to Scooby Doo than anything approaching any kind of real sleuthing.
This spin off is a colourful feel good escapist mystery series with a feminist touch.
It is set in the alternative early 1960s where the fashions of the swinging 1960s arrived in Melbourne before it even hit London.
Peregrine Fisher is Phryne Fisher's niece. Peregrine is a failed hairdresser in a small town who has inherited her aunts estate who is now presumed dead.
Before long Peregrine is playing detective as a model is found murdered in an upscale department store in Melbourne.
She has a flirtatious relationship with Detective Steed and is accepted by The Adventuresses' Club, a group for women with special skills and talents who battle sexism. A grouch of a police detective is there to display caveman attitudes towards the women.
Peregrine wastes no time using her hairdressing skills to solve her first mystery. It is all rather lightweight, fluffy and not really that good.
