Dangerous Waters is a notable release for the fact that it’s Ray Liotta’s very final turn, though it should also be commended for an impressive leading performance too, from Israeli-American actress Odeya Rush. To mark the film’s release we had the pleasure in speaking to her via Zoom, as she talks about the challenges in shooting a film that requirs such physicality, and her own thoughts on the action genre.
She also talks about her experience working alongside the iconic Liotta, while she looks back on other noteworthy collaborations, such as Greta Gerwig in Ladybird, and Larry David in Curb, which we naturally are intrigued to discuss.
Watch the full interview with Odeya Rush here:
Synopsis
A sailing adventure to Bermuda spirals out of control when 19-year-old Rose discovers the hidden depths of her mother’s new boyfriend and his connection to a dark underworld led by The Captain.

Exclusive: There has been mystery for weeks over which Hollywood talent will attend the Venice Film Festival amid the two strikes but the clouds are finally starting to lift.
We’ve confirmed with sources that Ferrari star Adam Driver will be on the Lido next week to promote Michael Mann’s anticipated new movie, thus becoming the biggest U.S. actor to date to commit to the festival. The Daily Mail first reported that news.
Ferrari secured an interim agreement from SAG a while back so this isn’t hugely surprising but there was still a question over whether SAG actors would feel uncomfortable over the ‘optics’. They may still. But SAG-AFTRA leadership were adamant yesterday that actors in movies with interim agreements should be at festivals to promote them. Their message: this is helpful to independent cinema and the cause. That affirmation from SAG helped a number of actors make up their minds.

Stars: Tom Berenger, Kristen Hager, Paul Ben-Victor, Jimmy LeBlanc, Mark Sivertsen, Brian Duffy, Ace Gibson, Ryan Homchick, Caroline Portu, Erica McDermott | Written and Directed by John Barr
Retired war veteran Jim Reed (Berenger) heads out on a hunting trip in the Allagash backcountry of Maine but when an accident finds him face-to-face with the corpse of a dead woman and a duffle bag packed with stolen money he soon finds himself in a web of deceit and murder. Fighting both extreme cold and a gang of bloodthirsty bank robbers, Reed must put all of his military training into action in an ice-cold game of cat-and-mouse.
The debut feature for cinematographer John Barr, Blood and Money is clearly modelled after the films of the Coen Brothers but without any of the style or panache of that duos film – Barr seemingly thinking the noir-ish characters and snowy setting are what mark out the Coen’s work.

On the usual Memorial Day holiday, the summer box office is just reaching high gear. This weekend was supposed to launch “F9” into the stratosphere — until the pandemic forced Universal to push back the latest “Fast & Furious” franchise title to April 2, 2021.
As May comes to a close, “Scoob!” is continuing its premium VOD success for Warner Bros. This weekend’s newbie was Paramount’s once-planned April release “The Lovebirds,” starring Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani, which showed up at Netflix, while several other originals launched with varying reactions.
Here are some topline results:
“The Lovebirds” went straight to number one on Netflix.

"Give us the money back! We know everything about you." Of course they do. They're criminals! Screen Media Films has debuted an official trailer for backcountry crime thriller Blood and Money, marking the feature directorial debut of cinematographer John Barr. He soon finds himself in a web of deceit and murder. As always. The cast also includes Kristen Hager, Mark Siversten, and Paul Ben Victor. This looks like a mix between a snowy survival thriller and a crime mystery, but still seems rather derivative. Tread carefully.
