I'm a great fan of the podcast, TMG. Thus, I was very excited to see that Noel Miller had published his first short film with a semi-professional production.
What really stood out to me was the emotional ambience during the action scenes. The police raid and eerie distress caused by Suki's crimes worked really well with the dystopian music theme and almost psychedelic visual editing. In generel, the visuals were quite pleasing and exciting throughout the entire run-time.
However, I found the dialog to be a bit stiff and emotionless. I don't think it matched well with the themes in the film. I also think that more could have been done to establish Suki's character. It did not have to be much but a bit more character development could have been done quite inexpensively (monetarily and creativly wise).
With that being said: I really enjoyed it. Taking into consideration that it is Noel Miller's first short film. I attend film school in Denmark. A lot of submissions at school are far less impressive than Suki. I will definitely pass this around to my fellow film enthusiasts.
Keep at it! You have got the talent, Miller!
