Marquis returns to his Tower Offices for the first time nine months after the nearly fatal shooting. Antwan the astute and affable security guard is taken aback at the dramatic changes in his manners and the odd request that he call his boss 'Perry.' There re-acquaintance distracts Antwan from several shadowing figures who have bypassed security in the rear of the building. When Marquis arrives at his suite he finds it desecrated by all too familiar faces.

After J.O.N.A.S. rediscovers Perry (Marquis) by chance in Lowenstein's pharmacy; another encounter with Officer Evans threatens Perry. Things find there upside as J.O.N.A.S. and his eccentric wife Celeste board Sadé and Perry in their stores backroom. Sadé's failure to track Perry's meds ends in a massive grand mal seizure. J.O.N.A.S. loses it on her and she flees back to the allies. When Perry finds her missing, he too begins roaming the city again. This time searching for her. Their choices bring about a surprising twist of fate. One in which Ani may have the answer.
