Stupid parents
gjenevieve19 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I am so tired of parents that get mad when their kid breaks the law and get shot or arrested. If your kid was committing a crime, they deserve what happens to them.

Decent, A Few Inconsistency's and Minor Flaws
blueoysterdvp16 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I love Blue Bloods but this episode had a few misfires. Still very enjoyable despite. The mother of the male shot robbing a gas station and nearly beating the owner to death. She goes after Danny at the police precinct after he mistakenly goes to her house to apologize for killing her son. Her son is a criminal but forget about that lady. YOU'RE KID IS NO ANGEL! Maybe shooting a guy with a GIANT SCREWDRIVER to death would've called for more investigation on another show. On Blue Bloods it was a "good shoot". Hiding it behind his back and then whipping it out so it looks like a very large shiny knife like object didn't work well for him. A new shiny screwdriver that size can actually be very lethal. An old screwdriver that size is still dangerous. The shininess of it played a big part. This episode is obviously about dealing with death. Danny's past with dealing with death. Anthony gets the over acting award on this episode for doing his best "young Danny Reagan" impression, stepping over the line with his style of questioning. He works in the DA's office. That style of questioning doesn't fly. I wonder what Erin would've thought? Eddie was Eddie, played her part perfectly despite Anthony going off the rails. Obviously Eddie shows Anthony that the proper way of out smarting these bad guys works better than force. Something Anthony knew in past episodes he's been in but the writers must've needed a new twist for the dealing with death plot I guess. Also didn't like Anthony's tough guy act towards Eddie. More over acting. I've been a fan of the Anthony character since he appeared on the show. Not this one. In the end it was another good Blue Bloods, just not my favorite.

Back to Frank
mphervey3 July 2020
I absolutely loved this episode, mainly due to Frank Regan being Frank Regan. He's been gone a very long time, for all of season 8 and quite a bit of season 9 the writers have written this character pretty much out of character. He's always been a man of unbending integrity and as the boss he does draw the hard line, but he usually tempers that with kindness. In season 8 and for the most part of season 9, he is just plain mean in my opinion. But in this episode the Frank Regan we've known and loved over the years shines through. I wont give away what happens, but the last two scenes, one with him and the Inspector, the other with him and his family, are gold.

All the ramifications
bkoganbing9 April 2020
Tom Selleck instead of the Reagan kids has the main story line in this Blue Bloods episode. Robert Wisdom one of the precinct captains is about to be promoted to Chief. But a disgruntled white captain who took retirement when he was passed over is about to blow the lid off a felony arrest Wisdom had as a juvenile.

Selleck has to grapple with all the ramifications of his actions. The final scene with Selleck and Wisdom is a Blue Bloods classic.

Donnie Wahlberg while off duty shoots a kid as he comes out of a convwenience store after robbing it. It bothers him because he has two boys the oldest right around the perpetrator's age.

Nicely done episode where Selleck dominates.

what's with all the apologies?

Warning: Spoilers
Danny shot and killed a kid during the commission of a crime after said kid attempted to kill Danny with a screwdriver during a deceptive approach. When the kid goes for the kill shot, after being warned countless times by Danny to stand down, Danny shoots and kills him. It was a clean shot, and as Danny says to Erin, "It's not my first rodeo." So why in the world are we dragged through the whole process of absolution where Danny apologizes to the thugs mother only to have her savage him with endless contempt -- not once, but twice, the second time down at the police station! HER SON TRIED TO KILL A POLICE DETECTIVE AND HE SHOT HIM! Ends of story. I found Danny's remorse beyond the pale and the entire episode, which I don't even want to delve into further, a step below par.

Not over with

Warning: Spoilers
This was on the way to be an outstanding episode. But the $64 question was totally avoided...the thing that I was waiting for....how was Frank going to handle his decision after the whistleblower went "live at five" with the news that NYPD had hired a felon and not going to get rid of him when the fact became known. This ball was totally dropped.
