- Frank considers implementing a fitness test after an officer has trouble keeping up with his partner; Danny is hesitant to pursue a cold case after learning who the original detective was; Anthony begs Erin to stall a trial.
- After an out of shape officer Rachel Witten's nearly fails to rescue his partner timely, Frank ponders whether to adopt a more rigorous fitness test for the NYPD after an incident with Garrett (who happily lost weight) and (unrepentent fat) Sid and the police union representative, who needs a dirty push to a compromise. Eddie asked and got to be partnered with Witten, who invites her to join an NYPD women's sports league, but Jamie objects, haunted by flashbacks to the Blue Templar, fearing league mates may take advantage of the soon-to-be daughter-in-law of the Police Commissioner, angering Eddie. Danny explains Jamie's reasoning to Eddie given Joe's death and says he'll talk to Jamie about it, Jamie later reconsiders. Danny hesitantly pursues a cold case because the bumbling original detective was Sid Gormley. Danny, Maria and Sid solve the case. Anthony has Erin stall a murder trial against a longtime foster mother to gather more evidence; her foster son Sam Jones admits to Anthony that he only pretended being with the suspect, who is actually rather lazy and neglectful, so Anthony later takes Sam in.—KGF Vissers
