- Susan confides to Janet that Peter plans to confront Frank with the Herald's proof of his culpability in the Drew story. Janet says Wendy is giving her the silent treatment at home. Peter threatens to expose Frank unless he names his employer, the man who brought him to Woodbridge to help hang Jack Drew. Although Peter won't say, Frank surmises it was Susan who ratted him out to her father. After learning that Wendy hasn't confessed, Val reveals her trickery to an infuriated Janet who blames Kip's disgusting character. Val attempts to deflect blame from Kip, but Janet isn't moved. She decides against a confrontation with the pair. She's going to remain quiet, let them sweat a little, and when they're confident that Val has kept quiet, she's going to catch them in the act and hang them. Janet knows Kip will react very badly toward her personally, and she wants Wendy to see it. Frank phones Susan and begs to meet, but she steadfastly refuses, adding she'll call the police if he tries to bother her. Frank won't be dissuaded. He says they'll seeing one another. That's a promise.—Mark Faulkner
