Do not watch this movie!
8 January 2011
I can't believe how many people find this movie good. It's one of the worst movies I have ever seen! It's just plain boring. The plot is way too easy. People say they cried? Why? I bought this movie having watched AND cried over "A Walk To Remember" and "The Notebook". And I was looking forward to another experience like with those. Boy, was I wrong. And let me tell you, I am a 30 year old male but I watched it with my girlfriend and my mother. Nobody was crying. We just shook our heads and wanted the movie to end. It was that bad. I read on the forum that someone watched it three times on the same night? Unbelievable! I will never watch this again, I might as well throw it in the garbage. So please take my advice and watch one of the other movies from Mr. Sparks, he couldn't have had a good day when he wrote this horrible story.

Don't waste your time! Horrible sequel!
13 November 2010
It's not very often that I write reviews on here (even though I love reading them!) but this one made me think that I have to warn others. This is one of the worst sequels ever! I'm a big fan of sequels myself. You can say that I "collect" them. If I watch a movie and it gets a sequel I GOT to have it. I love being in that first movie's universe. And I want to know what happens to the characters. Not with this one.

My girlfriend and I were looking forward to a Legally Blonde marathon today. We had both watched number 1 one time each but hadn't seen number 2. Boy, were we disappointed! Not only did they make the main character stupid again for this movie. But it's all about politics! Boring politics. Isn't this supposed to be a FUN comedy? Not a boring movie about laws, bills, hoppers and what have you! I'm gonna say it: we didn't understand half of what was going on. It was too confusing and difficult. So we turned it off halfway through. And with number one being that good?! I even cried a little during that one. And this bull... very bad!

Haunted Echoes (2008 Video)

Don't bother with this one...
3 September 2009
I'm not one to comment on movies here on IMDb very often but I very much appreciate reading the opinions of others. Many times this has made me buy or not buy a movie. And let this be one of those comments that makes you NOT buy or rent this movie. I just watched it on TV but missed the first couple of minutes and didn't get the title. And all through the movie I was anxious to get to the credits so I could get on here and comment on it.

I sometimes read comments telling about bad acting in movies. And I think people exaggerate, sure not everything is worthy of an Oscar but mostly the acting in movies these days are OK. But this is not the case with Haunted Echoes. And it surprises me with actors that have been around for as long as they have. I think the exception is Barbara Bain, who is good as the crazy old lady. But it's not completely the actors' fault. The script is very bad, some of the lines they have to say! And the camera use and the whole feel of the movie... I was watching this with my girlfriend and she said it looked like a documentary.

OK, so it's low-budget, but then I'm thinking it would be better to spend time on another movie. At one point during this movie I pointed out to my girlfriend that not 10 seconds go by without something horribly embarrassing taking place. Be it a bad line, crappy special effect, stupid plot twist or misplaced music.

The only two reasons I finished watching this was that it was so bad it was a bit amusing and I had to finish it in order to comment on it.

So you are hereby warned; don't waste time or money on this.

Elvis: One Night with You (1985 TV Special)

Elvis, clad in black leather, performing jam sessions with original band-mates!
14 December 2004
The voice. The energy. The moves. The look. The charm. The attitude. The humor. The rawness and realness. To many people this show (together with the show it's a part of "The '68 Comeback Special") has represented Elvis Presley at his very best! Although having been away from live audiences since his last performance in 1961 he proved here that he still had it! Looking as good as ever and joking around with good friends and old songs, this is a very good little piece of an "Unplugged" concert. Long before MTV started with it. But as mentioned, this is only a part of a whole. For full pleasure and perfect picture and sound, you have to check out "ELVIS: '68 COMEBACK SPECIAL DELUXE EDITION DVD". It's packed with extra features and a lot of laughs!

My boy! My boy!

Stripes (1981)

Very disappointing!
2 November 2003
I don't know where to start. I saw this movie for the first time tonight (ok I know I'm slow) and had extremely high expectations! Loving the Police Academy films, and having heard that those were only COPIES of this fantastic film, I couldn't wait. And the cast? This was bound to be a great movie. Growing up in the 80's I love Bill Murray (Ghostbusters I&II, Groundhog Day and I even enjoyed him in Space Jam and Osmosis Jones), but this boring old thing? No.

The start of the movie is so slooooow and serious, but I thought to myself; "Just hold on, it will get better". But it didn't. And comedy? Not much to laugh about here. I mean the scene in the toilet were Winger and the Seargent "fight"?! Not funny but serious!

And what's with the nudity? It has no place in this movie. Like the scenes were the captain watches girls shower, and the whole strip-club thing...? Foolish!

And the last third of the movie takes it all to a whole different level. It's silly, but still not funny. Police Academy is way funnier than this. And what makes the film even worse, are all the countless goofs which can be detected throughout the movie, even when you watch it for the first time!

So if you're reading this and haven't seen this movie, you really do not have to bother. Despite of the reputation as being one of the best comedies of the 80's and despite the good cast, the movie is bad. I can not recommend it. 2 out of 10

The King at his best!
26 May 1999
Being a huge Elvis-fan myself, I have to say that I love this movie. Or I should say documentary. During this Vegas-season Elvis was almost "as good as it gets". His performance of "Polk Salad Annie" and "Suspicious Minds" is impossible to top. Although I think he grew as an artist into the seventies. But this was the beginning of one heck of a ride. You get to see Elvis back-stage joking around with his band members (this is the best part I think). And playing songs he hasn't done in years (i.e. "Baby, Let's Play House", "I Was The One"). If you enjoy these rare behind-the-scenes-clips of the King, I also recommend "On Tour" and "The Lost Performances"
