For me, the highlight of this film is a spoof of childrens' Arbor Day celebrations everywhere. With more heart than art, Carl "Alfalfa" Switzer performs an hilarious rendition of Oscar Rasbach's setting of Joyce Kilmer's poem "Trees."

This movie is much truer to the books than the TV series was. The acting is excellent, and the filming is beautiful. The story has a lot of sadness and tears in it, but it wouldn't be fair for me to hold that against the movie! That's just how it was.

Leonor Varela (I) as Cleopatra was extremely beautiful, and her lovers were hunks, so I enjoyed watching the show. The historical accuracy, however, wasn't; so if you know the story as historians have reported it, don't worry, there will be plenty of surprises for you.

In fact, the whole thing was quite absurd.

I found Sally Prager's portrayal of Claudia delightful. The character is intelligent, curious, full of wonder, and caring toward her younger brother. Her independence and courage are admirable. I sympathized completely with "Mrs. Frankweiler's" attraction to this spunky young girl. Ingrid Bergman's appearance toward the end of this movie elevates the film to a new level; as ever, her acting is superb.

"David and Lisa" is a beautifully updated version of this love story by Theodore Isaac Rubin. It shows careful research into modern psychiatry.

This short-lived but delightful show was a spin-off of "Murder, She Wrote" (1984). Jerry Orbach first appeared as Detective Harry McGraw in the first-season episode, "Tough Guys Don't Die," in which he teamed up with Jessica Fletcher to solve the murder of his partner, Archie Miles (played by Floyd Levine). Barbara Babcock also guest-starred in that episode, but as "Priscilla Daniels," Publisher and Editor of Femininity Magazine, not as "Ellie Maginnis." Jerry Orbach reprised the role of Harry McGraw in "Murder, She Wrote," in the episode "One Good Bet Deserves a Murder " (ep. #2.17).

This version of Snow White would astonish the Grimm Brothers. It is considerably grimmer than their version. Superb special effects, costumes, make-up, cinematography, and acting make this film well worth watching, but be prepared; it *is* a horror flick!
