Le placard (2001)
Excellent and hilarious
The funniest movie I can recall in my long life. The only one I saw twice in a row in the last 60 years.
Equally recommendable is a slightly older movie by the same director (Mr. Veber) called "The Dinner Party" which is a very funny movie and should not be missed by renting it.
The Lavender Hill Mob (1951)
A nugget of pure gold!
This film has just the right mixture of comedy and thriller tension, a very rare combination.
I believe it speaks volumes if, after 47 years, I can clearly remember, not so much the exact script but rather the fact that I most profoundly enjoyed it. Walt D. Dale
Die letzte Kompagnie (1930)
Well acted war movie
This movie is well acted and directed. Apparently it left a deep impression on the writer if he could remember the main actor, Conrad Veidt and its title after close to 70 years. Also seeing the accomplishments of this actor and director, it was amazing to see that he appeared in over 120 films. A feat not easily equaled by others.
