Morning (2001)
a stunning achievement
without ruining the "effect," MORNING is a stunning visual delight: capturing perfectly the changing of the seasons..., capturing the sense of Manhattan, and the relaxed pace of North Carolina.
(This is cool, because the film was shot, almost entirely, in a few areas of the Piedmont of NC.)
Great performances from the cast ensemble, and even the atmospheric actors (extras to the brutal)ring true: for all "locales..."
The camera work is, well.......... -GREAT, as well.
First time feature director, yeah- ...sure.
WITHOUT EVEN CONSIDERING THE BUDGET WITHOUT CONSIDERING THE "LOCATION RESTRICTIONS" on a film this size........: GREAT
The Cotton Club (1984)
"Where do YOU dance, Sandman?"
A movie very nearly as explosive as what went on behind the scenes.
As I recall, the subject of two thumbs-up reviews from Siskel and Ebert (aka, EEK & MEEK). -AND it hit many TOP TEN OF THE YEAR LISTS, as I recall (of course, I was very young...).
